The Inn at Lathones is a great place to stay. It combines a coach house, stables and restaurant dating back to 1600. ||||It is full of character and charm. Plenty of parking. …

Stayed for two nights in a superior double room. The room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. It had an outdoor sitting area with lovely views and was very quiet. Recommend this room if you are looking for peace and quiet as some of the rooms at the front of the hotel hear a lot of road noise. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The bar area is cosy and offers a great choice of drinks. There is also a good choice on the restaurant menu. Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked to order. Overall a very relaxing stay.

Slightly put off when we arrived from outside didn't look too inviting but once inside it is totally different. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. …

We stayed at The Inn At Lathones for two nights bed and breakfast. We had a Superior Double room which was very spacious and had an outdoor decking area with table and chairs. The large bathroom had a walk in shower and jacuzzi bath. This room was away from the road so was very quiet. The WiFi was quite slow.Breakfast on both mornings was excellent. There is no buffet, everything is ordered off the menu and freshly prepared. Service was quick and efficient with a nice ambience. The bar area is very cosy with a nice old inn feel. There is a good choice of drinks and again, service is great. There is also a separate restaurant which is also very welcoming. There is a varied menu although it is on the expensive side. We ate here once and my wife really enjoyed her meal but I found mine slightly lacking in flavour. Service here was also really good.Location wise, there is nothing that you can really walk to but it is just a short drive to St Andrews and the fishing villages to the south. There is plenty of free parking at the inn.Overall, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for a base to explore Fife.

We had a room with a balcony/decking looking over open country. Very peaceful. Staff were brilliant, food good, easy to visit places round Fife from there by car.

Stayed here for one night before a wedding in St.Andrews and it was nice. The room was spacious and clean with everything you need. The service was good! Breakfast was a bit overpriced and saying “it’s policy” to charge for breakfast before you’ve had it seems a bit scammy. Otherwise, it was nice and was a short jaunt into St.Andrews.

This was our "out of the city and into the country" stop in St. Andrews. A wonderful place for Breakfast and Dinner (with reservations). Away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area of St. Andrews but close enough to get to all of the attractions.

Great location for golf at Kingsbarns. Rooms were spacious, clean and great value. I had a room at the front of the hotel, so road noise was noticeable. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Can't remember another hotel with such a varied menu for breakfast.

A little run down looking hotel just outside St Andrews.Had a dog friendly room with a dog secure terrace and a view of fields, lovely and quiet. The main dining area/bar needs a refresh and lightening up, as it's very dark. The dinner menu is mainly pub grub the likes of scampi & chips ( frozen and fried rather than the triple cooked on the menu) They offer a small selection of Gluten free options. The wine list is very small and of average drinking.Breakfast has a fairly extensive menu. The yoghurt with fruit coulis needed more fruit coulis. The Gluten Free Scottish breakfast had the most disgusting sausages. You have to wonder why, as most supermarkets offer sausages GF as standard. The tomatoes looked cooked but weren't.The smoked salmon Benedict was really lovely. Avoid the breakfast rolls as the rolls aren't as light as those from a supermarket. The hotel is dog friendly and they can join you for meals. It would be nice to see a small doggy breakfast menu.We came to pack and discovered that the suitcase had been disturbed, on closer examination a top of mine, which was folded the right way round as I intended to wear it again, was found inside out with nail varnish on the back, quite clearly long nails (I have short nails and never wear varnish), also found a very long hair which also isn't mine attached to said nail varnish and brand new white jeans, never worn, now have a brown stains and leg creases and quite clearly someones backside has distored the new denim, I had only removed the labels and the cellophane wrapper on Sunday morning, before we left. We have complained, but I'm already guessing they will deny any wrongdoing, but as only housekeeping are in here .......I would advise against people staying here unless they want their clothes gone thorough and worn without their permission, otherwise, lock all clothing and belongings carefully awayUpdated to say that after complaining and being told duty supervisor Jack/Jake would speak to us this morning about the clothing incident, nothing g happened, no one came to speak to us and no-one really cared. Will be taken up with head office.
