We enjoyed our stay at the Covenanter Hotel, we stayed on a Saturday night and the restaurant was open till 9 pm and the bar till 10 pm. The hotel is a key stop for any Outlander fan. Breakfast was excellent. The only negative was we didn't get fresh towels for our room during check in. That was promptly corrected and the staff did apologize.

Only visited for some food. Busy in the bar, where lunches were being served, with pleasant and attentive staff who were relatively busy. Great lunch with typical bar food; soup, steak pie, and a desert were all fresh and most enjoyable. Recommended.

Not my favorite hotel experience, but its a great stop for 1 night if you’re an Outlander fan! The room was absolutely lovely, with a free standing tub by the window that you could look out over a beautiful church as you soaked. The bed was super comfortable, and we had everything we needed to be very cozy for the night. That being said, the WiFi wasn't super fast, the staff weren’t incredibly friendly/helpful, and they turn off the heating at night, as another review mentioned. The restaurant downstairs closes early and there is nothing else in town, so plan accordingly. And since it is the town hub, there will be tour buses, delivery trucks, and activity outside your window early in the morning. All in all, with the beauty outside your window, and the quaintness of the small town you’ve seen in you’re favorite TV show, I’d suggest this place for 1 night. I’m glad that we went! I won’t be returning again though.

What an amazing experience it was staying at the “Covie” Hotel. Check-in was seamless and the rooms were clean (we booked the James room) and the bar and the food were simply perfect. The only thing I would suggest for the management to consider is a kettle with a longer power cord on it as we had to make our tea on the floor, but was quite funny and we laughed about it regardless. It’s pretty hard to find another pub in the area as The Stag and the Bruce both have shut down for the time being and hoping to see new owners there at some point. There’s a small café that I hear was amazing but we did not have a chance to try it. But you couldn’t pick up better location and was always funny to watch the outlander fans dodge cars as they get their precious shot. Pro tip for anybody who is visiting Falkland, make sure you make reservations for breakfast or for dinner at the hotel way ahead of time as the food is quite good and you may find there’s nothing available at the last minute.

Been here for drinks a couple of times and always been happy with the service, had food and was really impressed - burger was meaty and perfectly cooked, and my date's macaroni cheese looked proper cheesy!

The place looks nice but can’t say the same about the food as we never had the opportunity to try it. When trying to order food we were sent back for the table number only to be told to wait 10 minutes to order as their booking costumers take priority. After waiting more than 10 minutes we were told to wait another 10 minutes only to ask another employee and being told that we have to wait 20-30 minutes until we can make an order not to mention having to wait for the actual order after that. Very disappointed seems like management needs a change.

I am sad to have to write this review.||We were visiting from New Zealand. ||We had two rooms booked, the Bruce and the Outlander. When the staff left for the night they switched the heating off for the whole building. …

We didn't stay, we just wanted to eat. The staff was not nice. We asked for soup sandwiches. The soup was delicious , but the sandwich..... A plain piece of bread spread between chicken tasteless something.. It was a big disappointment

This place should decide whether it wants to be a hotel or a pub.Do not stay here on a Friday evening or during the weekend.Noisy drunk people make it absolutely impossible to sleep. In the pub below the rooms,in the entrance ,in front of the building..Once the last roaring drunk has left the place is tidied in a noisy way.An absolute nightmare. No consideration at all for guests who want a decent night sleep. It is a disgrace.
