Excited to try this relatively newly re-opened hotel. We went for lunch on a warm sunny day - so we were pleased to be able to sit outside overlooking the great gardens. …

I would highly recommend this place. The house is in a beautiful setting and dinning room/ bar is tastefully decorated and very warm with roaring fires and welcoming staff to greet you. We just went for breakfast which was delicious with wonderful fresh ingredients and beautiful presented.

Went today for Sunday lunch. Terrible drive to house (pot holes etc) Found our way to dining room. Asked if they had a table for two. Group of staff talking by till. We were told to go and sit anywhere. Waitress came over and gave us a menu. Only two things on the menu we would have chosen, both unavailable shortly after 1pm. So we had coffee and left. Staff more interested in chatting to each other and had no idea how to serve at the tables. Staff training and a more interesting menu required. Almost nobody eating anything other than a cake with their coffee, tells you everything.

We were in Scotland for 2 weeks and this was our favorite place of our entire trip! George and Sonja are wonderful, charming, lovely hosts. Breakfast was wonderful. The rooms and renovations to the whole property are incredible. We spent 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer!! We will be back!! Thank you so much for your hospitality. We feel like we have new friends in Scotland! And give Matilda a scratch for us!

Visited for a father's day meal, the food was good and the staff are young and still learning. I'm sure that it will become very popular. The road up to the estate needs a bit of investment.
