We loved staying in the loft room. It was so wonderful to have some space to spread out, lounge on the couch, put our maps and books on the table.Helen was so welcoming and the breakfast delicious. We loved seeing the little birds that visit her lovely garden to get their breakfasts too!

Had a perfect stay. The annexe is immaculate- being so clean and peaceful. It’s very nicely furnished with comfy bed, a proper sitting area with sofa and an en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was fabulous with homemade ingredients used. What made this an outstanding experience was the warmth and friendliness of the host. Highly recommended.

We were in the lovely "Artist's studio" room above the garage. It was beautiful and the owner, Helen, was extremely friendly. She also had lots of recommendations for restaurants and a nearby shop to buy supplies. She gave us dishes for our takeaway dinner and even drove us back to the trailhead in the morning for a small fee when the bus times weren't convenient. The breakfast was lovely with lots of options, including a full English, and homemade spreads and fruit compote from the garden. We had a great stay at Hill View and would definitely recommend it to others!

Had a wonderful stay at Hill View Steyning as a stopover walking the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne. Greeted by a warm welcome and a beautiful home with breathtaking gardens. Really comfy room with modern bathroom. Everything you would wish for in a B&B. Hostess made the most beautiful breakfast and is a rare talent! Thank you for a wonderful stay and enhancing my experience of the South Downs Way.

I spent the night here recently whilst on a long distance cycle trip taking in the Downs Link Way and can thoroughly recommend the place. The studio was light, airy and spacious, and immaculately clean. The shower was amazing, after a day in the saddle and having acquired a coating of dirt which stuck to my sunscreen I certainly needed it. The proprietors are also keen cyclists so if you need local advice or assistance with your bike (I did!) they can point you in the right direction. This place is great for anyone wanting a cosy overnight stay whilst exploring the South Downs.

After a 15 mile hike... Helen welcomed us with cold water, home made flap jacks and fresh milk to make tea. The triple room is very large and spacious, high ceilings with wooden beams and a modern ensuite. So the bed bit was great, but for breakfast.. the weather was good so we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed probably my favourite breakfast of the year! I had cereal, fresh fruit with yogurt and home made fruit compote, followed by a personalised full English breakfast. A big pot of tea and orange juice completed this sumptuous breakfast. Thank you very much for looking after us Helen and Robin. Excellent place to stay :)

I agree with all the previous comments. Lovely owners offer such a warm welcome. Beautiful house and garden (we stayed in the spacious studio room with ensuite bathroom), delicious breakfast although i could only manage cereal and toast but my partner had bacon egg and homemade hashbrown and even homemade tomato ketchup!! Yum! Steyning is an interesting small town and we were lucky enough to be there for the country fair. Only a ten minute walk to Hillview so it's very convenient for walkers doing the south downs way.

It is a lovely house and garden. Helen does everything to a high standard including interior decoration, gardening and cooking. The breakfast was a real treat with homemade courgette bread as unusual side. The room is a large private annexe that is as beautifully done as the rest of the house. It was a really pleasant stay.

Lovely B&B accommodation. A beautiful home with a large immaculate room. We received a very friendly welcome and the breakfast was fantastic. You won’t get better value for money in the South Downs.
