We had the most wonderful dinner tonight at the pub. The food was delicious, the service and staff were absolutely fantastic! The chef even came out to explain one of the dishes to us. Nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic staff, service, atmosphere and location! Thank you!

A proper traditional pretty pub. Great food & not a huge menu which is always a good sign. Very welcoming staff. A pleasant change from all the same forgettable eateries you get everywhere

I stayed here with my brother whilst going over the South Downs Way. It is quite a steep descent to the pub from the Jack & Jill windmill's, when using the foot path, however, you can come down via the road also, but the road going past the pub can be quite busy, so use caution. The pub wasn't that busy when we arrived but they'd clearly had a busy day prior to our arrival, the staff were fantastic, really friendly, very accomodating and the food was very good also. Our room was a bit dated, but had some fantastic views out over the downs.Overall it was great place to stay and suited our needs perfectly.

Pub is in a fantastic location with great garden and stunning views. However, every time I return, I wonder why I have. The pub itself is pretty small, dark and claustrophobic, the toilets unpleasant, bird poo all over the outdoor seating and tables, run down kids play area and drinks are expensive (especially alcohol free beers). It is frustrating in some ways because it could easily be a fantastic pub and I think that's probably why I do return as I'm hoping it has turned a corner but it always manages to let me down.

This is generally a good pub but milking it with their high prices. How can they possibly justify £2.10 for a packet of peanuts??? We haven’t been there for sometime and unfortunately they haven’t changed. One of the most expensive pubs in Sussex!

The food served was tasty and good quality and served fairly promptly considering it was a bank holiday. Some staff were friendly, helpful and working really hard with the influx of customers. …

A traditional English pub... typical country style building. Decor could do with a little TLC, as it felt a bit tired and dated. Felt like a local pub, for local people...Layout is unusual with lots of nooks and crannies, some areas were a little gloomy. This aside, the atmosphere was pleasant and we enjoyed a glass of wine before exploring the nearby walks.

I've just left. Had the most awful Sunday roast where everything was tasteless, boiled and microwaved. Gravy was brown water. Even the Yorkshire pudding was mushy. I didn't touch the food. Nobody came to check up on us so I just left hungry and £19 poorer. They also didn't do card refunds so my friend had to accept cash refund for the food they didn't have anymore. Staff also clueless on what they had in the kitchen and kept complaining they were busy but there were only 3 tables taken.
