Lovely surroundings & dining room. Had a lovely Sunday lunch here . A bit more expensive than most in the area. Only criticism being extremely mean with the veg only a childs portion for adult meals. 1 slither of carrot less than a tablespoon of kale & red cabbage & Yorkshires are only served with beef. A good helping of meat & 3 potatoes.

An extremely hectic Sunday service, even the bar area busy. We were a little concerned for our Sunday roasts! Firstly, staff were all polite, smiley and prompt! …

5/5. We had our Engagement Party Dinner here in the Private Dining Room. Absolutely no faults whatsoever, exceptional food and great service from Harry. Raf, one of the managers, was also extremely welcoming on arrival and all staff asked if we needed anything and double-checked everything was perfect. Would recommend to anyone wanting to book a room for a private function/dinner!

Impromptu weekday afternoon lunch here with family of four, all adults. Didn’t book. And had lovely table by the window on a summers day. Restaurant wasn’t busy. Lovely garden for dining/drinking too. Our only criticism was the length of time we had to wait for mains (one hour). And just one dessert 20 minutes. Apart from wait. Really nice food.

A fantastic hotel. We stayed here with a lot of our family for our wedding and it was an amazing time. We all loved the Highdown both for its hotel and pub and many of our guests emphasised to us what a great place it had been.We had dinner here on 2 days and both days the food was excellent and service was good. Breakfast are very very good.Location of the hotel is great with excellent links to the south downs and the garden next door. The hotel itself is immaculate with beautiful rooms and a great residents lounge. We had all the rooms booked for a few nights and I can safely say that they are one more beautiful than the other. Especially the bathrooms have seen a lot of care and effort to create and are pretty impressive. The staff were extremely helpful at all times, even when we had locked ourselves out after the wedding at 3am. Everyone was always friendly and they catered to all of our often slightly more complex requests associated with the wedding including keeping our wedding cake for us and letting us use the dining room to prepare flowers the day before. There is nothing to fault about this place and I am certain we will be back many more times.Lots of love to the whole team and thank you for an amazing few days,Emma and Max
