Granted it's an old place, with creaking floors and a funky shower (we never did figure out how to control the hot water!) and no AC. BUT it has many nice features which compensate for this. Namely, the location is great, the breakfasts are fantastic, and the patio bar in back is the best in town.

Warm welcome, staff excellent, could not fault it. All the meals I ate where well cooked and presented especially the beer battered fish and chips which were so good I had them two nights in a row. Will definitely be back as I want to come for Sunday lunch. Thank you to all the staff and landlord for a perfect stay.

The room was immediately above the kitchen's industrial extractor fan, which was on 12 hours a day, and next to the cupboard with the pub's tumble dryer, also in regular use. I was there for 6 days. …

Last minute booking for Festival of Speed. Location is great - in the city of Chichester, with small car park, and within a short walk of bars and restaurants. …

Awful. The room was adequate but absolutely not worth the price and the owner was one of the rudest individuals I’ve ever had the displeasure of talking to. As I say, the room was adequate at best but nothing special. The feel of a budget hotel at the price of something much, much better.

Plenty of Better Options in ChichesterPros: The room was decorated ok and was somewhat clean. The location is convenient.Cons: The room was very dusty. As it's an old pub with uncarpeted bedrooms, sound travels incredibly easily, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The biggest drawback, however, was the manager's attitude. He was exceptionally rude and unwelcoming, making it clear he has no interest in his job or his customers. His demeanor really dampened what was supposed to be an enjoyable trip. The price is exorbitant for what is offered. Even the manager admitted he wouldn't be happy paying the rates he charges.Overall, there are plenty of better places to stay in Chichester. I would only recommend this place if there were literally no other options available. For a more comfortable, cleaner, and better-value stay, consider nearby the Trents or the local Travelodge instead.
