Believe the hype and reviews. This place is spectacular and worth the visit. We stayed a night in the “Purity” suite which was spacious, had a magnificent view and a very comfy bed. …

We picked South Lodge for its proximity to London, the ability to stay one night (many hotels have a two night minimum on weekends) and the spa. The positives were the spa, which is as lovely as it looks in the photos. …

Had a spa day (with a treatment & lunch)The spa facilities are absolutely impeccable beautifully laid out and gloriously relaxing! There was something for everyone here.I had a full body massage with a few tweaks (as I had had recent surgery on my back ) and the therapist - Rosie - was absolutely fantastic. I was so impressed by her thoughtful attention.I was able to relax in the relaxation lounge in the beautiful pods before going back.Prior to this I had a small bite to eat before my treatment and there was so many choices from the menu. Favourites were the matcha milkshake and kale Caesar salad.I was suitably impressed and will definitely be going back again!

This is the second time we have been to South Lodge- it truly is our ‘magical place’. From the moment you arrive everything is catered for & the staff are warm yet professional. The rooms are spacious and we had lovely views from our garden suite. We brought our dog & it was a lovely touch to have a bed, bowls, a toy, towel, treat & a little message awaiting her in the room. As before the food was excellent, room service prompt & a good selection to choose from. Lastly a morning trip to the spa was just what was needed to round off the perfect relaxing weekend. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay overall was very pleasant, with service more than making up for any shortfalls. The spa was lovely and generally not too busy, and brunch at Botanica was a highlight - especially the ham hock. Dinner on both nights, however, was a bit disappointing at each restaurant due to excessive salt in the dishes, particularly the steak. All in all, I look forward to visiting again in the future.

We visited South a lodge for afternoon tea a birthday present bought by our daughter. It was a lovely experience with excellent service in a beautiful room. There were shades of ‘Downtown’ through the whole afternoon. There was a huge selection of teas and the sandwiches, cakes and scones were all tasty and varied.

Overnight stay and afternoon tea, absolute luxury from start to finish. Attentive, friendly and courteous staff with so many nice touches such as the 'fresh milk' button on the iPad in the room. Plus the spa is amazing. Not cheap but definitely value for money.
