The best Indian our family have tasted, authentic and full of flavour. Staff very friendly and kind.Floors could do with a good clean. However the food is incredible and outweighs any other factor. Will definitely be visiting again and pass on our positive experience to friends and family.

From start to finish the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The room was dirty. There was one flat pillow each and a mattress so heard it was like sleeping on concrete!! …

We booked a room only as we were arriving late we weren’t concerned about the previous reviews about the room. What a delightful surprise! See photos they speak for themselves...we stayed in the Tudor room £64 for the night! …

Nice location on the high road, but really shabby rooms. The staff tries to care, but unfortunately basics fail on number of fronts: the room and bathroom was not cleaned when we arrived, we asked for that to be corrected. It wasn't. The hotel in general also has a significant smell challenge with the 'pub' being an Indian restaurant. The A/C didn't work. The window couldn't close (our room was on the street). Nothing was fixed despite repeat asks. Won't stay there again.

Ideal location - sadly that’s where the positives end.Had to request a towel as only shower mat in room, cups were dirty, urine stain on underside of toilet seat, bed base unclipped (clip on floor under bed).Curtains not secured properly to rail.Stained carpet and absolutely filthy under bed, discarded water bottle goodness how long that has been there. I only visited thank goodness but friend of my stayed there for 2 nights - he definitely will not return. We were told by management’ that if we were not happy we could obtain a refund for the night and leave the hotel immediately at 9.30pm !!Absolutely dreadful in my and my friends opinion.

This was the worse place I have ever stayed in. We arrived to drop our case off at 12 noon as advised on previous phone call. …

The fact I've given this one star is enough said about how bad we found The George. So, I'm going to focus on the very few positives:1) The bed was comfy.2) The shower was hot.3) It was located near the festival we were attending.4) It was better than staying in a tent and using portable toilets & showers.I do not recommend this place. I would not stay here again.

Very dated needs a good update, deffo needs redecorating rooms are poor the shower was very dirty and mould and n the shower curtain and on the tiles. The bed was very old and the springs on the mattress was poking through I would not recommend my dog to stay at this hotel AVOID at all costs. Staff didn’t have any idea on how to run the place. PLEASE DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !!

I booked myself in for two nights in a single room, I was attending a local hobby meet. On arrival I went to the hotel bar to get booked in, the bar was virtually empty which I thought was strange on a Friday evening. …

For a £50 a night room in 2024 it was better than I expected. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was let down by details like the knobs on the shower falling off, the temperature of the shower being very erratic and having no window but a skylight too high to reach, with a half open blind so that I was woken at 4am by the light. The staff were very friendly and service was good. If you want a bargain room and aren't too fussy about the details then this is a good option.
