Booked in the Crown for one night as I was travelling for business. Arrived at 19:25after a 2 1/2 hour drive to be told the restaurant closed at 7pm! Not what you’d expect from a hotel and public house.  …

Didnt notice we had received a text with the room number as we were driving up. No reception even though there is a sign pointing you up the stairs, what hotel does not have a reception or somewhere you can go to for help? …

Convenient car park by asda. Nice room good shower simple but comfortable. Missed breakfast as not served till 0830 and I had to leave before which was a pitty. Would certainly stay again as there is not much else in the area.

A fantastic place to eat with great service and a menu way above and beyond the usual pub grub at very reasonable prices at one of the oldest pubs in the town. Fresh and local ingredients. Waitress great with kids, a seperate restaurant dining area. Nice large portions and food presented very professionally. Would recommend wholeheartedly!

Arrived just after 4 on Friday afternoon. Had to park in the Asda carpark which was packed. Entrance round the back of the hotel was dirty and cigarette butts every where. Check in and was advised the breakfast was between 8 and 9. Dirty carpets in the hall way . Git to the room but booked a double room. With king-size bed. The bed wasn't even a queen sized bed. Big whole in the wall covered with plyboard. Looked in the bathroom and the was a used sanitary towel in the bin. Notice in the bedroom if you wanted clean towels the following day you left them on the floor .Went to meet our friends and had a great night with them. Came back to the hotel around 11 and the was a lots of noise from the pub. Couldn't get to sleep until the band and the music had stopped.Up for breakfast for 8 and was told breakfast wasn't served until 8.30 as the chef hadn't arrived yet. You had to get you own tea and the teapot wasn't very clean. Breakfast was ok.Ledt the hotel to spend the day with friends in the beach.Came back around 10.30. no clean towels the bed hadn't been made and the tea and coffee hadn't been replaced. Not as loud this time.I wouldntnormally complain but this hotel was 95.00 pound per night. Will not be going back again.

A very good place to stay, would recommend it. Comfortable and clean, and friendly and helpful staff. We had a family room and it was large and had everything we needed, even enough milks for the tea and coffee ;)

Stayed here with a few friends. No one to greet us, keys left in the door and you are told your room number before arrival. Room was basic and wall paper was peeling off the wall. …

Stayed for 2 nights recently. Both rooms seemed to have been recently renovated and were very clean. Great value for money and would definitely stay again. |The Indian restaurant based within the premises looked nice and we try it next time we visit.
