My friend and I were cycling and camping on an event over the weekend but on Sunday seeing the rain coming in the evening, and after being quite cold all day we asked if the Cross Foxes had any rooms for the night and what was the latest we could check in. we couldn't be sure what time we would get there. Despite usually closing around 10.30pm they very kindly offered to stay there until we arrived. So so grateful for this, the bike store and dry room was a godsend too. Lovely people. Great bunkhouse. Really comfy beds too. We needed to leave quite early the next day before normal breakfast time so they left out cereal and toast for us. Would definitely stay again. Thanks so much!

Off the main road in the middle of the village, so not obvious. |Fairly standard village boozer, the bar area is old style, our expectations were low.|However what a nice surprise, the barmaid was welcoming and efficient. …

A real credit to the Traws Eryri course. Having been battered by Welsh weather and a cycling mechanical we turned up unannounced looking really quite sorry for ourselves. The lass behind the bar was super helpful and got us set up with a bunk each. Food was great. Locals super kind and friendly. Locked cycling shed/dry room is amazing. I’ve been to lots of rural gaffs where being a cyclist is a nuisance, definitely not the case here. thanks to all the team for doing a belting job. Top marks.

Very accommodating and bike friendly. They had dedicated bike storage and a hose to clean off the bikes and gear. Across the street is a bike pump and tools. The rooms were exactly what we needed after a long day of riding and the dinner was delicious. Highly recommended for anyone riding the Traws Eryri route.

Thoroughly recommend this place. I was hiking the Snowdonia Way end of April/Beginning of May and had a really wet day so decided to try and stay somewhere indoors. This place was perfect. I hadn't booked but they were so welcoming. Found me a room, cooked some lovely food and even washed a couple of items for me. All at a bargain price. Thank you; I was a very happy customer!

Being a fellow welsh speaker, it was magical hearing welsh, music to my ears. I enjoyed a vegan lasagne and chips and a nice cold pint here. Well worth a visit, friendly staff and nice food

I had a very pleasant weekend stay at the Foxes. Patronised by a mix of Welsh speaking locals, cyclists and walkers all enjoying their hearty food and the great service provided by their extremely friendly staff - I left feeling that I'd made new friends!Stunning scenery surrounds this authentic, non-touristy, functioning village hub. I'll be back.

Seconding Pasha's review! A massive thank you to Dave and the team at The Cross Foxes for being so friendly and welcoming when we were stuck outside with our bikes scratching our heads about whether the bus would arrive! The dining area was lovely and the building looked like a wonderful, spacious place to stay- next time we're planning a gravel expo in Wales, this place is first on our list. Many thanks again!
