Great location in the middle of town, comfortable rooms, and a very good breakfast. The pub was very nice with a good selection of beer, liquor and food. …

Perfect in every way. A one night stop over whilst touring. Conveniently situated right in the centre of town. Pub/restaurant below and rooms above. The room was brilliant. Spotlessly clean, really comfortable bed, pillows and crisp white linen. Everything you need for your break. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. Good offering for breakfast. We ate in the pub in the evening and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. From a seasoned tourer 5* from me. NB some low beams so watch your head, but this adds to it's charm!

Really enjoyed the food and excellent service. Very fresh, I had battered cod pieces, the batter was like tempura, fish perfectly cooked, chips, home-made skins-on. Good selection of puddings. Mmm Amaretto, coffee, almond shortbread, ice cream! I'll be back. Only popped in for lunch.

Friendly staff, great selection of drinks on tap with your usual larger options some local craft beer options and ciders. I didn't try the food but I regret that because it all looked good.

I was in Whitchurch for just one night and needed to stay in town so I was close to my aged parents. The other hotel is out of town on a golf course. The Wheatsheaf was perfect. …

We were travelling from Saffron Walden to Llandudno and stopped at The Wheatsheaf for a late lunch. We were surprised and delighted with what was on offer here and impressed by the friendly and easy courtesy of David, our host. …

We went on recommendation and the food, wine and service way surpassed our expectations. We have 5 of their small plates, all delicious, but the salt baked beetroot and the pork belly with miso are not to be missed. Whatever you do, don’t walk past this place. Thanks for a great experience!
