We had an excellent week--could not fault the tuition which was excellent throughout. The one, very minor, issue (hence only four stars for the room) was the fact that our room was too hot--there was no means of cooling the room down as the glazing was locked. We were resident as a couple so it wasn't too much to bear but the prospect of sharing with a complete stranger might be disquieting!

Called here for coffee as we have done numerous times before, the location and views from the cafe/ restaurant: bar are without doubt the best in the area!! Stunning views of Lake Mymbr and Wyddfa in the background!! Asked for 2 DE-CAF coffees - they don’t have decaf!!!!! Never had it???!!!!! Nor did they offer de- caf tea!!! What a disappointment 😱Please we love to stop at your cafe but offer decaf for all of us who cannot have caffeinated drinks

Visited the bar and restaurant for drinks and food after hiking Moel Siabod. Friendly staff and good food, excellent views from the bar and garden. I've not used the accommodation or taken a course. Will visit again soon.

Appalling customer service, charged us £50 to rebook a climbing day when they had made an error with our booking where we had stated we wanted Good Friday after confusion with the month of Easter as it fell so early this year. Absolutely no flexibility nor attention to service, please take a look at Trustpilot for reviews of their mountaineering services and avoid at all costs.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The training team/instructors are very experienced and knowledgeable and will help with your outdoor experience. The food is amazing and the bar staff are great. The hotel is a maze but this adds to the experience. There are many courses you can attend and the equipment are good quality.10/10The views from the hotel are beautiful I will be returning very soon.

Exceptional serviceI don’t say this often, as the standard I expect from a service based operation is high!We arrived for a drink on Friday 23rd after a 3h driveI’d forgotten to feed the dog after a walk…I know!!I was going to pop back and solve the problem, but as we ordered some food we enquired if they had anything suitableWe received a ‘don’t worry, I’m sure we can sort something’ response..And they did!The service all evening was excellent, we left happy, if a little worse for wear! The next day after a group walk, the gang wanted to have a post climb beer, so we suggested going back since our experience was so good!Once again they cleared 2 large tables for us so as to accommodate the groupMost ate there and all drank, the food once more was great quality and well presentedOur final day saw us taking the dogs for a leg stretch near by, with the view of having some breakfast here on our way back!We got there 15mins after last servings for breakfastHowever, we were told, if you don’t mind waiting 15 mins, we can cook you something…they had cleared away but were so accommodatingThere is no way we dropped lucky 3 times! The attitude of the staff was consistently exceptional!Over the 3 days, all 20+ people we attended with had the same view!Thank you so much to all for looking after usWe are likely to return as residential guests 🙂

I did a Welsh Winter skills course, specifically because I have poor navigation skills and am afraid to walk alone in wind and cloud especially in winter with short days. The course was exactly what I needed, I learned so much, and the instructors were really patient. Also the breakfast in the morning and the packed lunches were perfect. Loved the sunflower seeds with my porridge in the morning as well as the fresh fruit, and the bar staff were great as well. The only problem I had was that I did not realise I could book accommodation for the evening when the course was over. I wish I had done that instead of booking a hostel.
