We found a bedbug in the room. We brought this to staff attention and was told something would be done about it. We called the next day, and staff told us no one reported the situation. We were told we would be contacted by a more senior member of staff, and I emailed twice, but we've never heard back.

The smell outside of the hotel is horrible, the hotel seems so outdated. The rooms needs a lot of renovation and the shower and toilet are not in suite so you have to walk outside. The bathroom didn't have a lock, or the lock was broken. The bed was horrible, it felt like bed bugs were eating away while I was sleeping. The location is near to the restaurants street and 15 mins walk from the main attractions. I wouldn't recommend it.

Location is decent but rooms are out of date and deteriorating, the "private bathroom" is actually down the hall and is tiny.No real service aspect included, rooms weren't cleaned daily and the furniture was hideous

The room is good but the staff replied very late to my phone call, there's said the check-in time is 2pm but there was nobody when I arrived at 2pm, I waited outside the door until 2.30pm after someone came.

I had reserved this hotel three months prior to our planned trip, only to have our reservation cancelled a month before our arrival. This left us in a bind, as all other available options were prohibitively expensive at such short notice. While a refund was provided, I find it unacceptable that we were put in this position. The reason given for the cancellation was that the room had already been taken. This information should have been communicated to us at the time of booking. I am disappointed with the experience and would not recommend booking at this hotel

If you are looking for a room in Edinburgh with no frills but affordable this hotel ticks the boxes . It’s not much dearer than a dormitory but far more private with a room and shower .  …

The cost for this room was very cheap so I didn't expect a lot of frills. I had let them know that my plane landed at 9 am and was informed that the room would be ready at 2 pm, but they would secure our luggage until check in time. …

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The room was the size of a shoe box, the beds were wet with damp, the room was filthy and full of black mould, shower / toilet was built into the corner of the room and also full of black mould. ( Pictures included ). We was only staying overnight due to work commitments. I complained to the manager whose reply was "Il speak to the cleaners in the morning", but he expected us to stay in this room in the condition it was in. The room was situated in the basement with only one staircase down to it. There is one window in the room which has bars on. If there was to be a fire there is no way you are getting out. An absolute disgrace I refused to stay there. Will be reporting to Environmental health.
