So there is no hot water in this place now and there hasn't been for over 1 week staff however very polite and keep saying they are trying to fix the issue but nothing happens. If you are homeless then avoid this place it's been done up since bit it's full of unsavoury characters "gone off food delivered" each month the carpets in the rooms despite new have been trashed which is a real shame. The laundry room has 2 small washing machines not really fit for purposes however they have tried to keep the hotel clean but asylum seekers "like to take over the washing" machines and tell you that you can't use them after waiting hours to use one they are very small drums 5kg.The laundry room use to be full of 9 washing machines but since theyve taken them all away and doneup the laundry room so there is only currently to washers and 2 "brand new" tumble dryers right shame I think the owner needs to invest in 5 big industrial washers but I know they cost thousands and why should they if the place keeps getting trashed.I totally don't blame them for wanting to cut back if your after sleep forget it 247 loud children screaming running around the room like it's some kind of play ground some idiot above me keeps using the forest as a dumping ground and jumping on my ceiling constantly and walking about heavy footed he never sleeps.!!The place is full of junkies most of them are nice people however most are intimidating and ask for money or cash and loiter about main reception the furniture on my room is absolutely beautiful Edwardian style but someone had pissed all over the cabinet and you can smell strong piss coming from the actual draws. They have spent thousands on doing up the place really impressed with the painting and the ceilings they have really tried hard but my room when I moved in had a smashed plug behind a set of draws that was live.!!!And sticking out and just a set of draws was pushed up against the wall so you couldnt see the smashed plug basically it was a trap if I would have touched that or a child I would have been dead basically. The staff apologized and then immediately put hazardous tape all over the plug and new painted wall the doors constantly bang late into the night well tenants deliberately bang them some doors on my landing are left open or a jar rather concerning doors are suppose to be locked.

Seems to be a hostel for illegal immigrants, asylum seekers and the homeless, although no sign saying so. The residents are almost all young men and generally loiter in the car park. Many scorch marks on the surrounding grounds and litter/possible human faeces on the grounds too.Avoid at all costs, especially at night.

The room I had book was clean and tidy. Had a fridge, kettle, TV, ample lighting, good ventilation and even knives, forks, spoons and a cup. They also have a kitchen and laundry. Location is gorgeous. A stones throw from Cramond waterfront. The air is fresh and it's extremely quiet. Staff are always very well mannered and approachable. Always willing to help and are always happy. All in all, a very pleasant experience indeed.

The quality of this place absolutely horrendous. From the outside, it looks as though it is the set of a slaughterhouse in a movie or as though it may be haunted. Some passeby even stopped to process the look of this place. As you walk in, you are hit by the smell of urine wafting into your nostrils. The carpeted floors are left unclean, the walls with molded and appearing as though they rot with age, and the windows look as though they haven't been washed in decades. And the curtains of the windows... well, they looked diseased. The bathroom... I shall not go there.Even though it is used as temporary accommodation for those who are temporarily homeless, these aren't the conditions that a human being must live in. It is as though the worth of a human being is degraded to that of an animal just because they are struggling temporarily. It is a shame to see some families staying here with their little children even though things such as mold are known to have a bad effect on health.

This Homeless place traumatised my family, I can't believe the council finds it fit to keep people in this place. The carpets were filthy, curtains and walls mouldy, the windows dirty and for the bathroom, I couldn't allow my child to use it. It was worse than a public toilet. Even Homeless people, some Homeless through no fault of their own, deserve a clean and decent place to stay!!!! I am appalled and hope something will be done :( 😞

At least a roof over your head.Nothing special. Very stressful situations. Not great for people who suffer from anxiety or depression.Occasionally dodgy people walking around. If you don't have another choice it's ok I guess.

Such a shame. As the Reo Stakis Commordore Hotel in the 70s, this was one of the top hotels and restaurants in Edinburgh. My first part-time job, while still at school, was as a trainee commis waiter in its silver service restaurant and I learned many skills. Remember Alfie Conn of the Rangers wedding reception was here and seeing Kenny Dalglish and his wife Marina as guests. It was that posh 👍👌

If the owner actually bothered to invest money in this place it would be great. Unfortunately he doesn't want to invest the money. I had the displeasure of staying here for a week and I really don't know how the council let this place stay open. On the landing I was staying on there was a big hole in the ceiling with water dripping through right next to exposed electrical wires which is health and safety on its own. The floors creak like nobody's business you could hear everybody walk up and down the halls also the person up above us. The walls are that paper thin you could hear every conversation. There's a horrid smell lingering throughout the place. And as for hygiene forget about it. The carpet in my room was horrendous. The ceiling dipped where there had been a previous leak and the cowboy job to fix it was laughable. Burnt out light in the room. The beds felt like sleeping on a slab. Nearest shop is about half an hour's walk away. No street lights on the main road going to the place so didn't feel safe on a night. No close bus stop. To be honest I think even the rats run away from this place. The council seriously need to inspect this place and shut it down because it's not fit for purpose. Also repeatedly asked for a kettle because there wasn't one in the room but they were "waiting on an order". Talk about making money off people's misery. The people that stay there deserve better in my opinion. Calling this place a hell hole is an insult to hell holes.

The view is stunning, but the rooms are less then basic, not clean and the furniture quivered at the touch. There where smells of sick and bleach in my room and it was warmer outside then inside though the heating was running on high. In the end I did not stay the night.
