The Rutland Hotel & Apartments is definitely the best place you can choose for your holiday in Edinburgh! The staff are great, extremely professional and courteous! Really smiling and motivated people!Visited Edinburgh with my boyfriend for our anniversary. The hotel had upgraded our room to a lovely suite and even welcomed us with a wish compliment! The apartment was very spacious, clean and with a really great interior! The location of the hotel is just perfect, everything is within walking distance, we didn't use any other transport during our stay!We also recommend visiting their restaurant "The Huxley". The food, atmosphere, cocktails and staff there were gorgeous! Hotel guests even get a discount there! It is precisely because of such a wonderful attitude and atmosphere that we will definitely visit again!Keep it up!

We stayed at the Rutland Apartments for our wedding weekend. I had a bridal party of 7 sleep in the 2 bed Apartments. My husband had him and his groomsmen in another 3 bed apartment. …

Exceptional from the moment we arrived to the sad moment we left. Every person we encountered provided exceptional service. We enjoyed drinks every day vending in the corner tables looking at the castle.  …

I can’t say how impressed I was with this stay, I was blown away with every aspect of the stay. I believe we got a cheeky upgrade as we stayed in the apartment section this time. Last time was a room in the main building. …

I had a wonderful stay at the Rutland. The main reception was closed for building works but staff were on hand at the Huxley the whole time. …

What a WONDERFUL stay. The staff was lovely and welcoming, our apartment was surprisingly stunning, and you can’t neglect the fact that The Rutland is at a walking distance from all of the best touristic spots— the Dean village, the Edinburgh castle, old town, etc. I strongly recommend.

Is there a better location for a hotel in Edinburgh? The Rutland Hotel can be found at the western end of the main shopping street, Princes Street, the Johnnie Walker Experience is across the road, The Scotch Whisky Experience is nearby, as are the bars and restaurants on Rose Street for eating and drinking. Trams and buses stop just around the corner, from where you can reach the home of Scottish rugby at Murrayfield Stadium…and then there is Edinburgh Castle, which you can see from the hotel, and in fact from the room that we stayed in!Checking in was quick and easy so we were soon in the lift up to our Castle View bedroom, and it did not disappoint. The castle view room, of course, comes with a view of the castle, and also looks along Princes Street towards Calton Hill.Apart from this spectacular castle view, what else is in the room? everything you expect – WiFi, a TV, a full hospitality tray including a Nespresso machine, a fridge stocked with drinks. There was also an assortment of liqueurs and cocktail-making equipment, robes, slippers, ghd hairdryer and straighteners, a safe and a radio. The ensuite had an impressive-sized bath and rainfall shower, plenty of Arran Aromatics toiletries, an illuminated mirror, underfloor heating, and a heated towel rail to warm up those fluffy towels. For food and drink, there are a variety of options in the same building. Kyloe Restaurant and Grill is mostly about steak with certified, dry-aged Scottish beef their speciality. If you want to continue your castle and Princes Street views then we recommend booking a table as the restaurant is a popular choice. After a night of partying, or in our case trying to get some long-exposure pics of the castle, breakfast was the next item on our agenda. We were almost stumped on what to order with a wide-ranging menu including classics such as Eggs Benedict – available three ways, with Brioche French toast, a traditional full breakfast etc.Huxley’s hash: picante N’duja, fried baby potatoes, pico de gallo, poached free-range eggs, and chimichurri. We also ordered a full Scottish for me as I can’t resist a potato scone, served alongside Hardiesmill beef sausage, pork link, back bacon, haggis, black pudding, tomato, mushroom, potato scone, granary toast and a free range egg your way.  This was a hearty breakfast that set me up for a day of discovering Edinburgh.
