Our [my husband and I] stay was quite brief as we had to leave early in the morning so couldn't have much of a breakfast. Host was lovely and kind about it and gave us some fruit for our journey instead.Room was fairly basic but comfortable for a stay.Clean and tidy with usual tea/coffee in room options. We were lucky with the weather but that meant the room was quite hot - no AC, but that's normal in the UK so more of an general gripe than specifically hating on this hotel.Distance from the nearest train station and information about the local area was lacking. We managed, but I can see others finding it harder. We were looking at the bus but didn't know if it was cash or electronic only or anything like that... common knowledge to a local, but we didn't know so didn't want to risk it. Uber is pretty much zero around there and we didn't know the numbers for a local taxi... not sure what to search for to find this information out either - place names are unknown and I don't know the area or if the name of a taxi firm that comes up would actually service the area we were in.Train into Edinburgh was straight forward enough. Didn't know if the parking at the local station was free or not either... not clear and no notices or signs [that's an issue with the station though, not with this hotel!]. We ended up just walking which took a good 20~25min.
