Lovely hotel, superior room was big and elegantly furnished, bed very comfy. Plenty of wardrobe space and well appointed bathroom. Staff attentive throughout although bar staff could do with a bit more training. …

BEWARE! Our family room did not look at all like on the pictures! On the pictures it looks very charming and cozy but in reality it’s rather old (old carpet, old black furniture, a missing curtain), not so cozy (no cozy decorative pillows nor throws).Luckily the bedding was very comfortable and the bathroom renovated (although they did it in a modern way and didn’t keep the charm of the old style like on the picture)The housekeeping was very basic, surprising for a 4 star hotel (they didn’t clean our table which had a few crumbs from the kids eating a biscuit, they didn’t add toilet paper and facial tissue).Adding to the disappointment: the entrance doors are hugly thick automatic gray doors, contrasting with the charming facade of the building, the breakfast was empty when we show up 25 min before the end so we changed plans. So overall ok but not at all what we expected

Positives:Great location near Edinburgh city centre, but in a more peaceful area to the south with many lovely cafes and green spaces nearby. The rooms were really nice and spacious. Loved the little extras like teacakes and slippers in the room. Service with a smile at check in. Breakfast was really good, lots of variety even for vegans (would have liked to see vegan pastry options and vegan yoghurt if I’m being really picky).Negatives:Rooms were not very soundproof, people walking around corridors and closing doors at night in the hotel. Front-facing rooms have a lot of road noise into the evening and starting early in the morning.

What a lovely hotel, warm reception and services. The breakfast was made fresh and a very good variety of choice. With comfortable beds, a cosy clean room and also dog friendly. Its a great location and highly recommend for a visit to Edinburgh.

Was nice but wouldn't go there again.Expensive and got an upgrade to a superior room that was far from superior and looked nothing like some online photos.Room and bathroom was dusty and was really hot the entirety of our stay regardless how long we left every window open (and no none of the heaters were left on). There was a laundry service available but was very expensive per type of item you wanted cleaned where even the staff advised of cheaper places close by that were also quicker to clean any clothes.I will say the service by the staff was great and they were always helpful where could be.

My new wife and I had the most amazing of wedding days here. Whilst looking for our perfect venue we made a visit to The Brunstfield which is pretty much on our doorstep. We were met by the wonderful Adam who showed us around, answered any questions we had and allowed us to visualise what our special day would fee like if we chose here. Instantly we knew this was the right place for us both, thanks to the incredible enthusiasm knowledge and experience displayed by him.We have to say thanks to the wonderful Imogen, the front of house manager who was always an email away throughout the process, dealing with the admin side and answering any questions we had thoroughly and being incredibly helpful throughout what can be a stressful process at times.Fast forward to the wedding day and we had Adam as our co-ordinator on the day. How glad we were to have him keeping us right, having everything ticking along and making sure the whole day run as smooth as he could. He's an absolute credit to the hotel and business. Nothing was too much for him and we wouldn't have wished for anyone else to assist us. Adam and every member of staff was friendly, helpful and nothing was too much for them throughout.Food was amazing and our guests were nothing but complimentary on what was served along the quality. The evening buffet we chose the BBQ option which was equally to a high standard and enjoyed by our guests. All of the our guests were full of praise regarding the venue, the accommodation and members of staff they encountered. The only slight negative feedback we had which we have shared already was the speed of service in the main bar during the flipping of the function room etc, but it was a minor thing that didn't detract from the amazing wedding day we had. Thanks to everyone we truly had the most memorable of wedding days, better than we dreamt it would be and cannot recommend this venue highly enough!

Really couldn't fault this hotel as regards location and amenities, and we'll be back (the Tunnocks teacakes are a welcome bonus!). But I would just say that the room was VERY hot when I first checked in. …
