Excellent place for even longer stays (we stayed for 7 nights). John the owner was the most kind and fullfilled our every wishes. Breakfast was the full Scottish. Rooms were very nice and quiet. Location couldn’t be better, only 15mins to city center and busses goes right next to the house. Airport only 20 mins away. Loved it.

One of the owners, John, treated me abominably. On our way to our stay, we experienced a flat tire, preventing us from making to our first night. We called and emailed, but, despite this, he eventually called and berated me on the phone. …

We stayed in Sandilands bed and breakfast for three nights during our journey around northern Scotland. Since we arrived, it was noticeable that many details were taken care of, making both the room and the house very comfortable. Everything is carefully decorated, clean and tidy. Breakfast is homemade and abundant. It is needed to make a special mention to John, the owner, who, with great care, attention and an exceptional kindness and human warmth makes you feel at home since the very moment you arrive in.Muchas gracias desde Galicia!

John and his wife are a dynamic duo! I truly felt at home in their beautiful house! Breakfast was delicious and quite the spread. The rooms were spacious and I loved every minute here. The location is great, especially if you have a vehicle and want to explore outside of Edinburgh. It’s really close to the main city, but not so close that you’re fighting traffic to get there. I will be staying here the next time I come back to Scotland!

The accommodation is located in an old upscale English house about 1.5 miles from the center, which is easily reachable on foot in a nice environment. The rooms are of decent size with a small bathroom. The breakfast was typically Scottish with a lot of options and including fruits, cheese, power bars, milk, orange juice. The dishes were partly dirty and the fruit was partly moldy. John, the landlord, has his own ideas about correctness. E.g. the breakfast is served from 8:00-9:00 and not a minute earlier. Luggage could not be stored on the day we left. Friends of us asked again and luckily after some discussions the landlord agreed to store their luggage for extra 10 Pounds. After our positive experiences in the accommodations on the West Highland Way, we didn't really feel welcome.

Couldn't ask for a coziest place in Edinburgh. It's just 20 min far from the city centre and the owners are lovely. John made our staying even better with his little stories and also accommodating us despite our little mistake. Rooms are clean and you have everything you need in there. 10/10 we'll come back!

John, the owner is a lovely man, doing his best to make guests welcome. Every morning he serves a great breakfast according to the guest wishes. Bus drives every 20-30 minutes to the center. That is why I am giving 5 stars. …
