Absolutely no idea why they call this a hotel. More suited for airb&b I would suggest. Check in time on Google is misleading. It's 3pm not 1pm as advertised. The building itself is unbelievably derilict and dodgy. You pull up outside and you think it's a joke. Something out of an horror movie. You need to ring a bell for access. The bell itself looks dodgy. They could have made it an intercom or anything half professional or decent. Thankfully the lady answering the door was nice enough. Bedroom and bathroom of decent size, all visibly clean. However, a big let down: one of the towels covered in yellowish/ brownish stains, some hair underneath the duvet, clearly not mine. Had to leave early as going for a night shift and not coming back. Check out time unreasonably early the next day. Not enough to get back in time for a last shower. Only hotels know why they would allow themselves 5 hours cleaning time ( check in @ 3pm and check out @10am). I personally think it's a mini scam. Anyway, not coming back, not at that price anyway. People checking and certifying these kind of premises: You are doing the UK a big disservice. Visitors can't believe how low our standards are.

First of all it's not class as Hotel but a 6 bedroom Victorian era house which has big size bedrooms not like today houses room. No secure parking, you can park on street unsecure. No 24/7 reception or service available, single glazed windows, not disable friendly at all, no fire exit plan, I don't know how they passed Health and Safety test or checks??? Been there for 2 nights got shocked at first from outside... Broken window glass, looks like an old pub... Anyway room was very big, beds were very comfortable but as I said single glazed windows so definitely cold, I got wet feeling cold as it was 5C° looking for heating but you can't use it when you want it. It will open from 8pm till 7am... one kitchen which closed early can't even warm your food from outside late night. Anyway I have to managed no choice first night I managed but second night was worse as heating was not working and I couldn't sleep in the cold at that time I checked windows and found that it's single glazed and mouldy window... Morning time no hot water as well, so I decided to get out ASAP... This place definitely not worth it to stay in a winter specially winter nights are much colder in Scotland as compared to the other part of the UK... If you love your family I would suggest that pay extra £20 and book a real and proper hotel... this place only better as compared to sleep on the street. I'm giving a one star as it's not a hotel or motel... Good luck.

While attending a function in Clydebank I stayed Saturday night at the Douglas. Very nice. Don't be put off by the rather shabby exterior, the room itself was spotless and large. Comfortable, and everything you would need. …

More like a hostel than a hotel!!!!Set back on the corner of a side road it looks derelict. You have to ring the bell and you're admitted by a young Thai? woman into a very small space where you're asked for ID and sign paperwork. Once inside it doesn't get any better. A dark grey carpet covers all the floors. There are 6 bedrooms in total but the caretaker occupies no. 6.Rooms are not cleaned on daily basis and beds are not made, no food option of any description is available here and caretaker doesn't know where you can eat.

Totally exceeded expectations considering the low cost. Staff member checking me in was very helpful, room is huge and spotless and the shower is one of the best hotel showers I've ever used. Obviously new, high pressure and hot. Great comp toiletries too.

The Douglas hotel may not look like much from the outside but don't let that put you off!The rooms are spotless, modern, warm and the beds are super comfortable.I was greeted by one of the bar staff as I was late arriving, the lady was really welcoming and friendly, seen me to my room, asked if I was happy with it etc and made me feel like nothing was too much trouble. The bar was quiet and the regulars were very friendly.Amazing hotel and staff for the price!
