Stayed here with colleagues. What a fantastic hotel. Rooms are nice, clean with comfortable beds. The restaurant food is amazing. The bar manager was very knowledgeable regarding which whisky to try. What really makes this hotel is the staff. Every member of staff were friendly, helpful and had a smile on their face. This is something a lot of hotels struggle with. Well done everyone.

The biggest selling point of this hotel that has persuaded me to write a review is the attitude of the staff. Far too often in hotels nowadays the staff don't seem to want to be there - the opposite is clearly the case at the Strathaven Hotel. From check-in to check-out all staff were enthusiastic, fun, and wanted to make our stay enjoyable.Good food at a good value and a comfortable room are also real positives and there are no negatives - but the management should be proud of the staff.

Went here with one other, simply to have our dinner. The service was excellent, staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was awesome and a little different - a simple cheeseburger had some unusual ingredients in it - very nice. The whole experience was excellent.

We stayed here and didn't check in until 01:00. For the price, really nice venue, the bed was one of the comfiest I've slept in and the room was great. Breakfast in the morning was simple but really good. The staff were all great. I would 100% recommend.

We attended a wedding in the hotel and to say that the service provided by the team was excellent would be an understatement. Nothing was too much for them from when we checked in to having our very lovely breakfast the next day. The bedroom (room 2) that we were in was much bigger than I thought it would be - although a tad on the warm side for me. The property is great and the bar & restaurant had nothing to complain about. I get that it's a country hotel and it is located where it is, but driving up from the ferry port in Cairnryan was a pain.

Lets start with the restaurant - this is how hospitality should be delivered - anyone I have given less than three stars to should visit here. The food is off the scale in terms of quality, inventiveness and presentation and delivered in the restaurant by just two guys who operate at a level of professionalism that is hard to find anywhere. Knowledge of the food and drink offering is exceptional and their attention to detail cannot be faulted. Many places would benefit from learning from this establishment. It may not be in a city location, but the Strathaven Hotel would put many a city establishment to shame. Have I mentioned breakfast - the service, the friendliness is unwavering in delivering the most outstanding Scottish breakfast I have had in a long time of travelling in Scotland. The hotel is in an old building and suffers a bit from the challenges of delivering excellence from old bones! But the welcome is very warm and all the intentions are good. Keep up the excellent work - this place is a gem.

We attended a concert here and decided to stay overnight and have evening meal and breakfast. As soon as we arrived, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful, it made a great first impression, so knew it would be a lovely break. We were staying on the top floor(2nd floor), which was ideal as my wife and recently had surgery, and they do not have a lift, as its an old historical building. However, we did not inform the hotel beforehand, and I'm sure if we did, they would have put us on a lower floor. All service staff were brilliant, but a special thank you to the restaurant staff for evening meal and breakfast as they were so helpful. I am gluten-free, and they were willing to adapt almost everything on the menu to suit me. They were also very well informed of would I could have and could not, and if they were unsure then they would check with the chef, who would then make recommendations. We had a lovely break and it was the staff that made our stay so enjoyable. I look forward to return at somepoint.

Booked Dinner Bed Breakfast direct with the hotel in advance, asked for early check-in as was attending an event in the hotel at 1400 (advertised check-in time) Upon arrival at approx. 1230 my room wasn't ready so I opted to have lunch in …

We has our Wedding here in July 2024 and cannot recommend the Strathaven Hotel enough!! The staff were fantastic - from amazing communication while planning, to service on the day. Our guests complimented how well the service staff were, the meals were hot and tasty and the bar staff did a great job! Gillian and Morgan did a fantastic job coordinating the wedding - I didn't have to worry about a thing and found it all taken care of for me! It made for a very memorable and stress free day. We, and a few of our guests, also stayed the night. The rooms were clean and tidy and the breakfast the following morning was tasty with a wide selection. If you are looking for a wedding venue near Glasgow, or even just somewhere to have a meal or an overnight stay, then I highly recommend the Strathaven.

Restaurant and cocktail bar is very modern and top quality, excellent service from the staff. Room was poor, old fashioned and in need of modernisation! Shower was something from the 90s and definitely not ideal for someone over 6ft! On the walls there was what looked like dried human ejaculation, which I showed the staff and they was shocked! The room stank of wet dog! Furniture was something from the 90s and the telephone side of bed looked like it was stained from tobacco. Cob webs on the ceiling around the light! Not impressed at all!
