Me and my partner visited for the first time yesterday after a from a friend! The seemingly typical British pub on first appearance truly dazzled us! The restaurant was quiet and well laid out, the staff were extremely attentive, well mannered and helpful.. and the food …we had the tasting menu and it was stunning! The chef seriously knows how to put flavours on a plate!!Will definitely come again 👏🏻

I think this is a truly remarkable stay and the staff are very accommodating. Great food/wine list too, beautiful decor, free parking on roads nearby and a lovely location that is close enough, but not too far from the centre which forms the hustle and bustle that is the friendly and welcoming city of Cardiff.Thank you for going out of my way to ensure I was kept safe and warm as a solo traveller. Highly recommend this hotel 😊x

I recently had lunch at this gastropub, and it was an overall pleasant experience. From the start, I was warmly welcomed by a friendly staff, who were attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is modern and relaxed, with decor that really invites you to settle in and enjoy your time.On the food side, I was particularly impressed with the tortellini, cooked perfectly al dente, with a memorable texture and flavor. For dessert, the poached pear served with custard was another highlight – the mix of flavors and textures was smooth and comforting. The only minor disappointment was the stuffed rabbit as the main course, which lacked a bit of character. I was hoping for something with a bit more punch, though it was still enjoyable overall. All in all, this is a spot I’d definitely recommend, and I’ll be coming back to explore other dishes!

Newly arrived in Cardiff, I was invited to have a beer at this PUB with my housemates. The bartender was very polite (I ended up forgetting to ask his name, but my English isn't the best yet and I'm dealing with the embarrassment of speaking), but he ensured I got a Guinness served at an impeccable temperature. The atmosphere is cozy and evokes a style that's both classic and modern at the same time. A pleasant surprise, and I will certainly return to get to know it better!

Greatly enjoyed the tasting menu. Service, atmosphere and food were all fantastic. Very accommodating as we had some special dietary requirements. Faultless evening. Make sure you're good and hungry before you go as the portions are generous for a tasting menu. The menu included welcome drinks and no supplements for any items so overall was pleasingly good value for money. Will definitely come again.

Was in town to see family and friends this weekend and my buddy suggested the Heathcock. I'd been to the pub in the old days but I was amazed at how nice the new owners had made it. What a lovely spot.First and foremost, great food! We had a selection of small plates, including a pea and courgette salad, sweetbreads, pigs cheeks, and pollock. We had some lovely wines by the glass and I really enjoyed my panna cotta desert.Service was relaxed and friendly; which is how I like it. And I thought the atmosphere across the 'venue' was great, even given that there were two wedding parties in at the time.Next time I'm in town I'll definitely be going again. Thanks!

Biblical wind and rain and the M4. And then The Heathcock. All warmth of welcome and superb Bloody Mary. A Sunday lunch to banish clouds and set the world momentarily to rights. Really good focaccia and butter. Sweet oysters with apple and fennel, ox heart skewers with good green sauce. Then the main act, roast porcetta stuffed with butternut squash and sage, awesome crackling, a moreish mustard sauce, goose fat roast spuds almost as good as home cooked and tangy tasty cauliflower cheese. There was pudding and a great macchiato, but nothing really mattered after probably the best pub roast ever. Joyous cooking. One to be repeated, definitely worth a journey.

This was difficult to score. The staff were excellent and attentive so no complaints there. However there was a lack of atmosphere in the room which looked quite stark. It would benefit from redecorating with darker colours and some pictures on the walls. Food wise, my starter was excellent but my partner who had the crab was very disappointed. The portion was extremely small given the price, literally two mouthfuls and it was gone. The mains were fine, nothing wrong but nothing exceptional. Was it a bad experience, no! Would I rush to go back, no again. Would I go if invited with friends, yes. All in all an ok experience
