The smell of damp was strong throughout the property.Hot tub advertised on their website,when we arrived it was green and mouldy- unusable.Hot water &heating not working throughout our stay the owner and bookings company unable to be reached initially so had to travel to local gym to shower.We left the property cleaner than when we got there, had to wash AREADY DIRTY CUTLERY with cold water.Exposed wiring and loose plug sockets a recipe for disaster in a leaky/Damp houseWhen we asked owner for partial refund after stay, he removed his property from the lettings website to avoid having to provide any solution/compensation!! Absolutely disgraceful. We paid £2500 to stay here

Location was really nice and the internet was good, but that's as far as it goes.Boiler didn't work so no hot water for showers, washing up or heating.Dehumidifiers in every room, not doing their job as mold and damp in every room, wallpaper falling off and part of the ceiling fell off in one room.Found camera on the network but could not find the camera in person.No TVs worked.Owners recommendations and solutions did not work for fixing the boiler and did not visit or send someone to assistOwner gave no solutions for the mold and damp other than, paraphrasing, "yeah we know there was a bit of a leak".Owner has now removed their property from Sykes website and they are all refusing to give us any compensation

Beds super comfy, stayed in a big group. Mainly booked for use of the hot tub, however when we arrived it was empty and, dirty and smelt, we tried to set it up but because of time restrictions were never able to use it which was disappointing. Had a great time with friends and checked out beautiful local area. Just be aware the neighbours are not keen on guests being there. We had been at the hotel for 3 hours when a neighbour started to tell us if we were loud they would call the police. Very passive agressive and not what we wanted for a relaxing weekend in the lakes. Also was told that the neighbours were trying to sign a petition to get this place shut down. Weird energy from the neighbours.

The rear of the Crown and Mitre is covered in trash again as it has been all week .|The new residents had to tidy up the garbage from the previous guests . |It’s a disgrace that the promoting agents and owner show so little regard for the residents of our village .

The place was filthy on arrival, all thr crockery was dirty, the boiler did not work, leaving us without heating and hot water, the tv did not work, and the owner said buy one yourselves. Absolute shambles and should not be allowed to advertise!

This property is now a holiday let with no services provided. It has been converted without the appropriate permissions. The hot tub is situated in a small back yard overlooked by neighbouring properties and has no views. Use is restricted to hours between 8.00 am and 8.00 pm. Rubbish is not collected regularly and remains outside attracting wildlife.

Don't be fooled by the Sykes write-up on this property.Be aware of these things before you book.The hot tub is situated in a backyard, no view to anything. It is next to a wall and liable to dirt collecting in it from the roof and birds.The owner seems to have annoyed every neighbour and hence any guest is likely to feel extremely unwelcome in the area.There is no contact number for the owner or indeed anyone to get help from during your stay.There are piles of rubbish around the outside of the property that clearly had not been collected and removed. They cause a smell, and there is much broken glass.This is not the sort of place for a celebration like many have planned, which is likely to make any excess noise, it is a peaceful village.
