Stayed here by myself for one night on my way to climbing Helvellyn.Room was large and very clean.Lady behind the reception desk was very helpful during check in.Location is nice and quiet. Lots of parking spaces available. Nothing to walk to, except the Shell Garage and a Londis, but checking out the location prior to arriving will show you this. However, for an overnight stay, it's not an issue.People complaining about parking charges need to wake up and realise that £3 for 24 hours is not a lot of money for parking these days. Yes, it's an inconvenience, but a very small one.I paid £44 for a Friday night advanced rate and I think for that price it proved to be very good value for money.Would recommend for a one night stay as a base to explore the Lakes and/or rest and recoup for your journey ahead.

Fairly clean room. Charges for everything from parking to Wi-Fi in room. Very basic. Fine for a night as a means to an end - wouldn’t want to stay longer. Think it’s time travelodge got up to date in these remote locations.

This is a soulless place. The first thing you find out is you have to pay for car parking, even though there isn’t any other practical way of getting there and there are no other attractions nearby that would entice non residents to park …

Great staff, large clean room, was at the rear so not noisy from main dual carriageway at front. Beware that there is a charge for parking of £3 for anything more than 4hrs, and no restaurant altho reception will prepare a pizza for you. Very helpful receptionist, with amazing tattoos, provided a list of local businesses prepared to deliver.

Convenient location and Sat-Nav took me to the front door. Parking was entertaining and is £3.00 per day for travelodge customers.Pay in car park for parking and don’t forget to register your vehicle at reception when you book in.Staff were very friendly and helpful, but there is no bar or restaurant on site, so if you’re feeling lazy or don’t fancy a drive into town you only have the petrol station next door for the standard petrol station stuff. It can be difficult when returning from town as you have to drive pass to the next round-about and come back on yourself to access the site from the duel carriageway and take care not to over shot.Good nights sleep even with the window open as you can hear the traffic on the dual carriageway.

The room was very basic with tired decor. It was not made-up when I arrived, so I opened the door to the state which someone else had left it in. The bathroom smelled mouldy so I had to keep the door closed.  …
