WARNING: DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION. THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD.I booked 16 days at this "hotel" through Zen Hotels from 6/19-7/6/24 but could only hang on 5 days. I was torn as I had paid it all up front and was reluctant to spend more money but in the end I had to exit this filthy dump. FYI: I subsequently stayed at the Chiswick Best Western hotel a few minutes away from this one. and the reception staff told me that 5 other parties had booked there coming from Chiswick Lodge. Besides being a fall risk and a public health violation, it is extremely unsafe as the front door was frequently open. Here's the report that I sent to Zen Hotels and to the Chiswick Lodge hotel management. Be warned, fellow travelers. This place is a public health hazard and a massive fall risk. It should be shut down immediately, and I will continue to advocate for a health inspection to take place. I wasn’t comfortable confronting anyone at the hotel about this horrible experience. I was asked by Zen Hotels about photos and evidence; however, I didn’t take photos or videos. I’m not really versed in that and was too traumatized to really think about gathering evidence. I was alone in a foreign country and felt very vulnerable. I am also a senior citizen and woman and felt totally taken advantage of and scared. Here's my report of my stay at this dump:I write to let you know that I exited Chiswick Lodge Hotel today on June 25, 2024, around 11am. I had planned to stay through July 6 but given the filthy, dangerous, and sub-par conditions, I decided to leave and find an actual hotel. Here is feedback that lays out some of the reasons I left:1. The room is filthy everywhere: the bed frame, the drawers, the floor, the bathroom floor, the kettle which was filled with dirt and rust.2. The light in the bedroom glows yellow making it impossible to read or see clearly at night.3. The furniture and fixtures are old and in decay. The wallpaper is crumbling off the wall.4. There is a nail poking out of the bed headboard.5. There is no desk, no where to write, no where to sit, no where to put a computer.6. The soap provided was not soap but some sort of body wash.7. I was placed on the 4th floor which is not suitable for anyone. The staircase is narrow and steep and is a clear fall hazard.8. The bathroom sink barely had water coming out of it—slowly and very hard to wash hands appropriately.9. The bathroom is so small it was hard to move around without bumping into the walls, the tile—almost impossible to move.10. There is no air conditioning, and the room is stifling needing me to leave the window open and hear trains until 2am.11. I read no warning or messaging about this hotel having no receptionist and having to navigate stairs. There is no way that this hotel would be OK for most people if they knew about the stair issue and the lack of seating and reception.I saw a manager on the way out who asked me why I didn’t complain and that they would have put me on the 2nd floor. I asked why would they place anyone paying money in a room that is so dangerous and filthy? Why did you think it was OK to place anyone on the 4th floor closet? This is the worst experience I have every had in a hotel. I became sick with a chest cold, primarily because I could not rest or sleep and got run down. Your approach to tourism and hoteling is disgraceful and shameful.

This is the place to be for those who just want to sleep over there. The building is old, the room was small but comfortable. The bathroom very small...The TV was very mall too.The asset is the location... Chiswick is wonderful... the lodge is basically downtown Chiswick... good coffees, restaurants, supermarkets, parks, pubs, friendly people. The tube is right there too.You can see staff couple of times at the lodge, or more often at the minimarket that is on the street level.
