The bed was a little small and my Partner struggled to sleep. The lady in charge was amazing though. She waited up for us after our plane was delayed late into the night which was great service.

The room was very clean and tidy, no problems and a great location. With our room it had it's own bathroom but this was on the floor above.

The rooms are 30 minutes walk from the center. Cleaning is daily. In addition, the accommodation has a refrigerator and microwave for common use in all rooms. The walls are very thin so it can be a bit noisy. The heating is good, you don't get cold because it is on almost all day.

Basic and complete guesthouse. Clean. Convenient location, not very central. You can hear the noises from other rooms a little too much, but it's all made of wood and that's understandable.

Nice hotel room with a knowledgeable and lovely host. Spacious and clean. Only thing for me was the limited parking, thin walls and loud floorboards. But for the central and heart of Edinburgh, this is an ideal place to stay.

Bala House is an inexpensive guest house, it is reasonably well situated with good transport links, and it was attended by very helpful and polite staff.Given the cost and size of the room it fits into the niche of being a place to sleep when you're in Edinburgh.Unfortunately, it has two major drawbacks, one the bed was pretty uncomfortable, not terrible but not good. The other drawback is that the whole place has wooden floors, because of this noise echoes throughout and you can be disturbed by neighbours coming into and out of the other rooms. It wasn't expensive and it was a roof over our heads, but in all honesty I wouldn't stay again.

Nice and clean. The owners are very helpful. One slight negative is the parking is limited
