Participating in the Aurora Tour, we arranged to stay in a triple room. The room was very large, but as for B&B, I came to participate in July-August 2024 and stayed for two nights. There was no washing machine or kitchen here, only a small refrigerator, microwave and oven. It is recommended to stay at the only youth hostel in town that has a kitchen. There is no breakfast included. The driver said that the housekeeper said that we were the second Taiwanese to wash clothes here. It was the first time he saw so many clothes being washed and he was afraid that we would use them. We wash clothes in hot water (electricity is very expensive in the UK). We wash clothes in cold water and bring our own washing powder. We are so afraid of running a B&B. We were told that we should use the coin-operated washing machine in town to wash clothes. We don’t know what the problem is. , if you want to open a B&B, it is recommended to provide a washing machine, not to mention we stayed here for two nights.It's about an 8-minute walk from the supermarket in town, and the youth hostel is relatively close.

It's in a quiet neighborhood but only several minutes walk to the town center and harbor with restaurants, shops and tour companies. Very safe to walk around, even in the late evening.The room No 1 is very clean and comfortable. The host Gordon is very friendly and thoughtful. He provided so much information to make sure I had a wonderful experience in Skye.If I could complain, the shower space is tight in Room 1. But the water temperature is easy to adjust and the flow is very strong. It definitely helps me with a good night sleep.

A B&B where you can stay in a highland tour, £40/person/day, the housekeeper is friendly and well-cleaned, the double room and family room (1 twin bed + 1 single bed) have narrow bedroom space, too soft mattress, and night heating It was very cold when the supply was stopped. After the reaction, the owner provided an additional electric heater and the bathroom was spacious. The B&B does not provide breakfast, and only microwaves and toasters are provided in the public areas. There are no coffee machines, kettles, or other functional facilities.

We spent the last two nights there and it was very nice. The B&B is very well located, the rooms are clean and our receptionist, Gordon, was super friendly and a pleasure to meet. Actually we should have deducted half a star as the beds were a bit too soft, at least for our liking, but since we would then give the B&B 4 stars and Gordon 7 stars, full marks!

The location is very good, really close to the center, and the satff were friendly. The only thing is that the room and showers were quite small (VFM wise) and the walls were not exactly soundproof. Other than that, great stay.

Lovely place, very convenient as it is really close to the town centre and the restaurants and cafes in town. The room was very tidy and clean and while you could hear some noises from around the house this wasn't really a big issue as it didn't kept me awake at night, however I stayed in during low season and the place wasn't busy at all so I can't say how the experience would be during high season.The highlight of the stay was definitely the chance to meet Gordon, he is a very nice person who's willing to help with with anything related with your staying in Skye and Scotland in general, he's also a very interesting person to talk to and I recommend doing it if you have the chance.

Excellent location. The room was clean, quite, tidy and very very cutely decorated. The place is in a perfect location surrounded by scenic beauty of the Skye and walkable from the city centre. Gordon, the manager/host was excellent and we had a nice chat about our plans and he could give friendly advice about places to eat and visit around the Isle of Skye. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Portree.

Fab location, close to the main square (though up a wee hill) but not too strenuous.Gordon, the housekeeper is amazing. He’s a fountain of knowledge in terms of great places to visit and for keeping the property absolutely spotless. With regards to facilities within the property, we stayed in the converted garage which was pleasant and warm enough. The shower room was well equipped with a wc, sink, fab shower and a hot towel rail. Fluffy towels were provided, as was tea, coffee, etc and some lovely biscuits, oh and a hairdryer (always handy). The only elements that let the place down was the tv which only provided Netflix (which we needed to sign into with our own account details). There was also a problem accessing the Internet connection which was resolved by one person going into the main house, pressing the WPS whilst another person pressed the Internet connection button near the tv. We had to do this every night. Obviously not a problem if you’re not into tv, but as the pubs we’re closing at 10pm. This was a good option for us. The other thing I would say is the beds are rather uncomfortable due to the mattress and pillows, but that was our experience and they may be ok for others. In terms of suggestions for improvements, a small wardrobe to hang clothes would be good. There was a coat hanger but not sufficient for hanging clothes (particularly if beside wet jackets). All in all, I would highly recommend Oronsay B&B for value, location, warm hospitality from Gordon and clean functional accommodation.

Nice place. Caretaker Gordon was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean. This was our first time staying in a B&B and found it to be slightly less private than a hotel room. Can hear people walking or talking in their rooms. Overall, if B&B is for you, this one is great. 5 minutes walk to town centre.
