We absolutely love staying at the Skye Boathouse. You really can just spend all day looking out over the loch. Third time we have visited this amazing place and definitely not the last.

We had a wonderful week at The Boathouse. Davie and Ailie have thought of everything to make our stay a memorable one. The decor is stunning and you are met with space and tranquility throughout. We enjoyed the wildlife outside; there were seals, an otter and a sea eagle all on our doorstep. It is the perfect place if you are thinking of where to stay in Skye with family or friends.

Stayed here for four nights in September with some friends for a sight seeing/ walking trip. The boathouse proved to be the perfect base for us,right on the edge of a beautiful loch and stunning views all around. The accommodation is first class. Beautifully equipped and of a very high standard . I would certainly recommend this place for those wishing to see Skye whether walking, climbing , fishing or pure unadulterated relaxation!

Excellently located and well hidden gem of a property right next to the sea loch. Spacious, well appointed accommodation with lovely rooms and facilities. The lack of water for fishing the River Snizort was largely compensated for by staying in such a special place. The picture is the view from the front door across the Minches at 11 pm on June 29th.

This is the most magical location. We have been going to the boathouse for many years now, and love it just as much as when we first visited. The accommodation and facilities are excellent, but what stands out are the views across the loch towards the Islands of Harris and Lewis. There are many opportunities to see wildlife, including rare birds, birds of prey (sea eagles), seals and sea otters - all this can be seen directly outside the boathouse. It is also a good base to explore the rest of the island being close to the main towns of Portree and Dunvegan. We fell in love with Skye many years ago, but the boathouse has a special place in our hearts and we will continue to stay there.

A magical and spacious holiday home, off the beaten track and peaceful with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break on Skye. Panoramic views over the Minch with wildlife spots daily - seals, eagles, otters, herons, divers, bats, all the usual suspects! Oh, and come at the right time, with patience, a clear night sky and the right equipment, you might catch a special light show in the north 😉. Can't get back often enough, L&J

We stayed here with a family of 6 adults and one infant.Very easy to book. The lodge was immaculate and very spacious. The location is secluded down a private road but also not far from local amenities. The rooms are of a very good size. The views from the living room are over the water which could be watched all day - also home to the resident seal which popped its head up to see us everytime we drove down the road to the house.Definately recommend and will be returning.
