The room is small, old, run down and in need of renovation. The location is great but that’s about it. Please find another hotel.

Stayed at the lodge for 3 nights end of September. Sanjeeva showed us our warm, clean room on the 1st floor which was cosy and had all what you needed for our stay. Tea making, TV and an ensuite. …

Tips for future users..if want a hot drink bring some water as there's no way to fill the kettle. Turn the fridge on straight away if you intend to use it. The remote control was the wrong one for the TV! The room itself was on the first floor. You have to ask for a hairdryer as there isn't one. Very basic and only worthy of 3 stars due to the great location (unless you drove) and the really pleasant gentleman, who was very helpful

First off, the gentleman there was helpful as he could be ( not being the owner) and apologetic for things that went wrong. But here goes..The plaque on the wall states  "Founded in 1267", and I truly believe this, because upon entering the room and laying on the beds, I feel these have been there since the formation date, because my wife's bed had more lumps and bumps then a plaque victim and mine I think was a refurbished medieval strecher rack. The real fun began upon opening up the bathroom door, what hits you in face harder then a low flying C130 cargo plane can only be described as the stench from hell which was caused either by incredibly bad plumbing or the remnants of an demonic paranormal entity.Trying to mask or stop this pong was an impossible task, I would have had more success stopping father time with pool noodle.Needless to say, much merriment was had by my wife and I as we settled down for the night and played a joyful game of " name that smell."The room did have fridge, well it looked like one, it was a small black box with a light in it and could put items in it ,but those items would remain at room temperature unless of course you left the door open which would allow the small globe to further heat said items. So to some up our stay, if you're into a themed holiday, spending time as a medieval donkey washer, then this is the place for you... but if you prefer happy treasured memories, then you'll grab your loved ones and flee and never look back.

My husband and I stopped here yesterday for one night as we attended a family wedding. The building is a grade 2 listed building so the decor etc reflects this. The stairs to rooms are winding but fine to use. Our room was on the first floor and was clean and included all basic facilities. The bed was comfortable too and the room temperature was comfortable too. The manager Sanjeewa was most attentive and professional. Nothing was too much to ask. He was always on call and a dedicated person. The continental breakfast was excellent and replenished repeatedly with a great variety of items to satisfy us all. The lodge is situated close to all number of places of interest. We were very pleased with our stay, great value for money
