I am being generous in my rating ATIS The Park Inn as an overall 3 stars. If you are considering a stay at this hotel, please read my review on booking.com.There are a number of things that are either incorrect or presented in a misleading manner.Firstly, the owner states there is on street parking available, but fails to mention it is limited to 1 hour.My room did not have a refrigerator (which is listed as one of the amenities). No exclusions were mentioned, and therefore, i anticipated having one. I improvised by using my waste paper bin as an icebucket. It was fortunate the convenience store was only a few doors up, open until midnight, and they actually had bags of ice to sell. I like to refrigerate my sofr drinks and will take fresh milk and snacks for a hotel stay. There were a few nice touches like bottled water, hot chocolate sachets, and porridge pots. The 24-hour security does not relate to a physical presence. I suppose the fact that the hotel is opposite the police station could be considered as a 24-hour police presence, "nearby". There is cctvvideo survivance in the common areas of the hotel. The hotel has been recently refurbished and is aesthet pleasing.Room service is quite literally that the rooms are serviced. There was no hair dryer in room 304.Had all of the above not been the case or the proprietor not been so rude, the price paid would have been reasonable.

Although the hotel appears to be newly renovated, it is already falling apart. The bathroom has gaps in the walls, the shower head fell off and it wasn't very clean. The staff at reception was very nice, but there was probably a lack of cleaning staff because our room wasn't completely cleaned, for example there were still used dishes lying around. The location is quite central, but the police station directly opposite our room made the night restless.

The owner was kind, but the room wasn’t that great. We had the last available room which was the one with disability acces. The shower curtain was hanging in front of the sink, and couldn’t hang in another way. Water in the shower wouldn’t go down the drain but to the door and made the carpet wet. The bed was quite hard and the pillows had a plastic cover. But most problematic were the sheets that were wet and waxy (?). Luckily we brought sleeping bags, as we were supposed to camp, but had our car broken down and needed to spend the night in Dover. The room also had a funny smell. Maybe it was paint? The hotel is apparently renovated. I think as they just opened they have some beginner problems, but they’ll maybe improve along the way.The location is good, but the hotel has no private parking. You can try at the back, we were lucky to find a spot there.
