This hotel is situated on a main road, this however did not disturb us. The patio area needed a tidying up as there were a lot of cigarette ends, but customers should be more thoughtfulThe rooms were OK Beds comfortable and the shower over the bath was powerful with plenty of hot water. The rooms needed a good clean and very dated the bedding very creased. The breakfast were lovely. Food that should have been hot was hot. Cold menu was cold. Lovely hot croissants. I didn't like that there were little jars of jam and if someone had used them they were left on the table for the next person. The car park is first come first served so does not accommodate all the cars. Swimming pool indoor a bonus. The bathroom towels were large and fluffy, also a hairdryer in the room. We were happy with the price we paid. Would we go back. Yes we would. Staff very pleasant and courteous.

Smashing hotel, very clean and easy to get to, the staff were very helpful and there is a great selection at breakfast. The car park isn’t very big, but managed to house about 10 cars, you need to input your reg number in reception upon arrival. There is a lovely little pool but we didn’t manage to use it. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

When we eventually found the hotel ( it had a name change 3 days previously and so very confusing as the booking site had the original name and the hotel had the signage changed to the new name!)  …

First things first - it is now called the Thanington Hotel. Parking is limited - once you enter there is no room to turn round if it is full and getting in and out of spaces is tricky. …

This is a very old building on a busy street, with efforts having been made to provide accommodation levels that are expected today. But, what do they say about lipstick on a …….? …

Great location just 15 min walk from the city centre. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The rooms are a little dated but the bathrooms had been refurbished more recently. The showers were hot and had good water pressure (even if the spray did fly in a few directions). For me the only let down was breakfast. Serving times are from 7am to 10am but when we arrived at 9am there was nothing fresh put out. Nothing was really hot and by the time you plated it up and got to the table to eat, it was cold. I asked for poached eggs but that request was declined. So it was scrambled or nothing. Also the natural yoghurt was pretty awful, so a change of brand or moving to individual pots might be a better option. Other than that, it was a great hotel, with parking & friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.
