What a quaint, cute bed and breakfast type hotel. Homely room with everything you need.5 stars for the room and cuteness, but overall 2 stars for the noise. The road that the hotel is on - Downside Road, - looks like a small, two lane country road.... no sidewalks (pavements)... but the traffic.... I counted 5 to 10 cars PER MINUTE, all day and night. I got maybe an hour or so of sleep. The road-facing rooms (I was in one of them) need the windows to have triple glazing sound proofing. The walls are solid plaster which blocks sound, but the windows need to be sound proofed. I've lived in a house close to a freeway and mounting an external sliding glass triple-glaze frame in front of the main window case will make a huge difference. Without that, I probably won't be staying there again - too noisy. It's a pity since the hotel is 'cute'. Also, I wouldn't walk that road to the airport at 6 in the morning while it's still dark - not without sidewalks and all that traffic.

I'm rating this 1 star after an awful nights sleep at the cottage. Over the night I stayed, I must have had 2 hours of sleep. There were constant noises from radiator pipes clanging. They obviously need the plumbing sorted as it was simply horrendous. I arrived to my holiday exhausted. The only good thing was the friendly guys in the back shed who took our car and even got me a beer from the local shop to enjoy. They were awesome! The room was tidy, except for the kettle filled with limescale, I wanted a coffee in the morning but couldn't stomach it. I would not recommend staying here unless you're not a fan of sleep.

A 20 minute walk from the airport and not 10 as described, you also have to walk along a road that is completely dark at night.Very poor soundproofing. You can hear the cars passing by all the time.Very soft mattress.Large step to access the toilet and the shower is shared.

We arrived late in the evening. The door was left open for us to gain entry and the key to the room left on the table. No-one greeted us or even left a message in advance giving me instructions of this type of arrival. The room on entering was extremely hot as the radiator was turned all the way up. The toilet seat did not fit the toilet. The shower seals were disgusting it made me urge. No milk in the room to have a cup of tea. The pipes for the heating kept us awake throughout the night, the noise was ridiculous. You pay to sleep yet sleep was unachievable.Breakfast was continental and consisted of cereal and a loaf of bread that other guests had touched beforehand. No juice, tea or coffee facilities unless you went back to your room to boil the kettle and carried your drink down the narrow stairs. I picked up the kettle that already had water in it. I emptied the water to fill it in the sink, the sink was too small for this to happen. Thankfully I didn't persevere as the kettle was filled with limescale. The 'hosts' walked passed us in the morning and didn't even acknowledge us.The only thing good about this place is the location. I would not recommend staying here nor would I ever return.

Perfectly near the airport, friendly and helpful owner. Rooms smelled damp although they looked freshly renovated. Shared bathroom without lock.
