Do not stay here whatever you do! The second we walked into this “hotel” we darted the other way. Our first encounter was with very rude and disinterested reception who was insulting a member of our party. …

The first and last time I have booked somewhere without checking on Tripadvisor. It was last minute emergency and very little availability elsewhere so we thought “how bad can it be?” |Hahahaaa. It was disgusting. …

Not a great experience when I arrived place looked closed very cold no lights , there's no bar or amenities, no real service either just given some keys by a random man who was sat on a sofa chatting a friend then sent off to find my room , I had a "double deluxe" room it wasn't that it was a box room with a shower , no phone , no WiFi code , most of the cupboards etc was damaged and worst of all was the bed very cheap mattress very uncomfortable, no helped by some massive banging and shouting going on from around midnight until 3am , when I came down in the morning the downstairs was full of police and paramedics which I'm assuming had something to do with the noises through the night , I believe this hotel is possibly a halfway house or temporary accommodation for local council as well , there is also no car park for the hotel it I'd just the shopping centre car park which for the best word is a bit "dodgy" for leaving your car for the night , the only positive I can say is the hotel was cheap , I'd like to say you get what you pay for but on this occasion I think it was a lot less than that , sorry but this hotel I won't be returning , I have to select great value on the drop down but it's not .

The hotel staff were nice and courteous. There are homeless people staying in the hotel and one of them followed me all day, watched my every move and I was very scared as a woman. I have just moved here and I am a person who seeks peace. No tradesmen and people have the right to disturb me unjustly. I think the rooms were comfortable but there was too much noise outside, I wonder if all my conversations were heard on the whole street :)

Avoid - Not SafeFor most of the night there were great disturbances, from room 13 and 14. In room 14 there was a drunk woman who was also smoking, yelling and playing music very loudly. In room 13 there was a couple screaming at each other for hours and throwing and banging stuff. We went down stairs to report it but there was nobody there and we called the number that was shown for support, but nobody answered. It was very obvious, the way these people were dressed and acting, that they had most likely not paid for the room. On our way out we talked to the receptionist, who was finally there, and it seems that The Town Hotel is taking money from the government to house homeless people for the night. This should be clearly stated on the website and if such a thing is done, then there should be a proper licenced security officer on scene. We paid for a service to have a room for the night that was safe and peaceful so we could rest. We did not get that and we definitely did not feel safe. And we were forced to leave the room much earlier than we would have liked. After our stay we contacted The Town Hotel twice to complain, but we never received a reply.

Clean, safe and economic. I've read some reviews about rooms were used by homeless but my room was clean and secure. I'll stay here again when I travel to Bridgwater. Staff was really kind and he is available for 24/7. Also it is close to shopping centre, pubs and old church.

I am currently staying here with a family member and must say that this hotel is very clean and tidy and the owner is very polite and respectful and is always welcoming. The facilities available are brilliant and I can honestly say all the bad things people have said about this hotel is not true the place is always looking clean and tidy and I'm am absolutely satisfied with my stay here. Great business great people. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a place to reside/stay and is located in the best part of town. Thankyou to the owner for making our stay the best
