We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Babbington House with 2 dogs. The vibe is very laid back home from home, don’t stand on ceremony but this hotel is very expensive and standards are just a bit below what you would expect. …

Amazing location, staff, pools and spa. Even in the rain it was a wonderful place to visit. By far the best poolside changing rooms I’ve ever used. Delicious food and a gorgeous walled garden. I cannot recommend it enough

I first stayed at Babington 15 years ago. Sadly it’s now just a shadow of its former self. The place is barely being maintained. The gardens are full of mess and weeds. …

We stayed as a multigenerational family in the cabin - which was amazing! We all had such a lovely time - great drinks, food and service. We used the pool and had spa treatments, we didn’t want to go home! …

First stay at Babington was 15y ago and there has definitely been a slow decline ( albeit an improvement since the immediate post covid era where it was very tired indeed). Rooms remain comfortable and the stable block is convenient for families having a separate bunk room. Food decent still, service from the staff is friendly but sloppy, mainly because they are desperately overstretched. There was perhaps 1 or 2 working the breakfast service in the main dining room. The biggest issue for us was the general upkeep which has slipped probably owing to the sheer number of visitors. soho house has clearly expanded their membership policy and they have made some fairly indiscriminate admissions. The pool area on a very hot Monday was carnage and overrun with people and they had clearly lost all control of who was entering the property (including perhaps people who weren’t even members). As a result the pool and surrounding areas were filthy, the water was cloudy and there was no seating. Not really the expectation when you stay in a luxury hotel and pay £800 a night! The group clearly wants to have it all, having expanded it subscription model but at the expense of paying guests.

It may have been the inn place but it’s very tired now. The staff in the leisure area act like they are running a youth club,no professionalism and they act like they are your mate.plus I think it’s scandalous that they charge 13.5% service …

Seen a few reviews recently of the negative tone, so wanted to leave one.||Stayed here multiple times recently the staff have always been helpful, and the majority of them have been good at their jobs. …
