I’ve stayed here several times over the years for work. The rooms are roomy, quiet, plenty of hot water, beds very comfortable. Parking is nearby. The staff are all super friendly, and Paul makes a great breakfast. …

We booked a Sunday Roast for 26 family members, our annual Christmas gathering. We did not know what to expect as we live far away but this pub is halfway for all of us.So accommodating, welcoming atmosphere, very pleasant staff, excellent service. The food was very tasty, plenty of choice, big meal and hot, served with a smile.Highly recommend and thank you to all at The Duke of York 👏🎄

Visiting friends in the area we chose to stay at the Duke of York for a couple of nights. It was an excellent choice. The room was well decorated, warm and clean with plenty of drawers and wardrobe space.  …

Lovely country pub, friendly staff and great ales. The food is fantastic. Especially loved the waffle and ice cream dessert. Hats off to the chef for a great meal! Also a nice big car park around the back.

A really lovely pub with very good food, extremely generous portions. My daughter reserved for us (group of 12). Everyone very satisfied, including one child of 2 years and one vegetarian. We had Thai curry and shared a brie starter. Very good and clearly all freshly cooked. Plenty of parking. Staff lovely too.

Lovely old pub in a really pretty village, which made perfect stop-over on the way to Cornwall. Very good clean room and supper was an absolute feast and breakfast perfect the next morning. Also surrounded by many interesting places to nearby. Much recommended.

Great pub lunch in a lovely village setting. Friendly staff who were very helpful. We stopped at the pub on the way to YTFC and were 30mins late due to traffic on M5. However they turned around the food quickly to allow us to head off to head off to the game. Can’t fault it.

Very nice food, well presented & service with a smile.Only downside is that we had to eat outside as we had our dog with us and after the sun set we were in near total darkness as the outside lighting was just one string of low lights that wasn't sufficient enough to see what you were doing. Otherwise I would have happily given 5*
