Nice restaurant, friendly service and the very best Sunday roast I can ever remember having. So why four stars? I don't like restaurants that sneak a service charge onto a bill. So look out for it. If the food and service in a restaurant is good I'll tip accordingly.

Good roast. Nice to have a place with decent food in keynsham. Bit pricey but food was good quality and service was great too. Defo would return.Extra pot of gravy for table would be handy. And roast potatoes were hard to swallow as we're quite dense and dry.I prefer them to be crunchy and crispy on outside and soft and fluffy on inside so it's less of a mission to eat them. But that's preference, I imagine many like it as it is.

Been here twice for a Sunday roast. Both times were delicious. The roast portion was huge and extra gravy. Can be slow when trying to pay the bill but food comes quickly.

We held Mums funeral wake at The Grasmere Hotel yesterday and it was just as we wanted, the service and food were excellent and the outdoor terrace in the sunshine made it perfect. Everyone commented on the food which had plenty of choice and was over and above your standard buffet.Thank you.

Really nice bar and restaurant, staff are friendly and welcoming.I went for the roast beef, oh my goodness, incredible tender and seasoned well, plus I had a good portion as well.Yorkshire pudding was booked perfectly and wasn't overdone. Gravy was nice but I felt there could have been a bit more. The veg was maple roasted carrots, swede l, kale , cabbage and parsnips. All very tasty. My special mention of the week goes to the Roast potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. It was seasoned really well. The side of crackling was very tasty as well.Strongly recommend this place, is reasonably priced as well.

I went for afternoon tea for my nans birthday phoned up before going. Lady asked how many afternoon tea I said 3 then she asked how many people I said 4. Went there and only 1 afternoon tray came out very confusing because I would of thought it be more then 1 tray brought out for the 4 of us as the price of it is very expensive for what it is. I asked to speak to manager when it came out,two chefs came out very abruptly and I explained what I had ordered and they simply didn't want to hear anything what I had to say. Very confusing how many afternoon tea tray come out and for how many people obviously they don't communicate properly, not explained very well Chef also was swearing at me as he walked back in. Very disappointing service.

The roast dinner at Haywards was delicious and really flawless. Everything was so full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, I have given Haywards 4 stars as when we arrived, we waited 15 minutes and then had to get up and ask the waitress to come and take our order as we had been forgotten about. Then after our food had arrived, my partner needed another drink and no one was looking our way or paying attention, so he went without. Further to this, we had to ask for the bill twice. We understood that it was busy, but felt ignored as a table in the corner. This was a shame. Having said this, we would return to Haywards at the Grasmere as the food was excellent.

My friend and I had a gorgeous meal at Haywards last evening. The food was very good and different from the usual Christmas food offered in many places. We had duck and it was just delicious. There was an option to add side dishes which we didn't choose as the main meal was more than adequate for us. Good choices of dessert and overall a great meal. Would certainly make a return visit.
