We were woken up in the middle of the night by drops of water. The tent appeared to be slowly flooding, the luggage was already soaked. Not so pleasant on a cycling trip.The warden was sympathetic the next morning, the owner later offered a refund. But when push came to shove: no more response to multiple messages...Otherwise a nice place, but in the end we paid for just a few hours of sleep and wet clothes.

Me and partner stayed for 2 nights in July, in a very cute dome tent. Darryl greeted us to the site, showed us the amenities, the wishing tree, told us about the trees, what's growing, and where the zip line was!The bed and the pillows were very comfy and gave us a great night's sleep throughout. We had a gas stove, stove kettle, a coolbox, cutlery/plates/cups, 2 camping chairs, a family size wooden bench, and a fire pit all to ourselves We booked the hot tub upon arrival and at one point sat and looked up at the stars with some bubbles.The site is quiet, and the sounds of nature are very soothing and give for a great life detox and reconnect with nature.Highly recommend for couples, family camping, glamping escapes from London and anyone seeking comfort and relaxation in the woods.P.s We even saw 2 glowworms!We will be back again in October to visit again. Thanks for having us :)

AVOID THIS PLACE unless you want to be bitten by bed bugs, have dirty shower facilities, and an owner who ends his messages with PEACE, LOVE AND HEALTH but fails to honour a commitment to refund a cancellation or a stay that resulted in numerous bites.

We had a great stay, and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The owners were super friendly and very accommodating. Kids loved it, too. Very clean toilets and showers.

Glemping in the woods, surrounded by nature. If you know how to light a fire there is a brazier to warm up and spend the after dinner time (they give you the wood). Beyond the tent is the gas stove. Other shared services. But most importantly we had a problem with the rental car and the owner saved us. TOP hospitality.

If you want PEACE this is the place to be. From the moment we arrived we were given a warm welcome. The boss lady that runs the place, Zara is an absolute legend! She is very responsive and goes out of her way for her guests. The hot tub was amazing and shower and washing up facilities were superb. Faultless trip altogether and that is all down to the wonderful wardens.

From the moment we arrived Zara made us feel welcome and at home, We had an amazing time in beautiful surroundings.The yurt was immaculate so were the facility's and we couldn't rate this stay any higher!!! Will be telling family and friends and will be coming again for sure!!! You don't often get a full package like this but Zara and the woodland escape are second to non!!!!Great for kids adults and even dog friendly we were provided with pens paper and marshmallows we salute you woodland escape!!!!

Woodland Escape truly lives up to its name! Our cycling adventure led us 60 kilometers from Melksham to South Barrow, and this enchanting camping site was the perfect reward. The staff's warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their attentiveness went above and beyond, ensuring every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.The beds inside the tents were a pleasant surprise – incredibly cozy and inviting after our challenging bike ride. Needless to say, we drifted into a sound sleep, undisturbed until the cheerful morning birds serenaded us awake. The proximity to nature created a soothing atmosphere that's hard to find anywhere else.The showers were a delightful oasis, providing that much-needed warmth after a day of exploring. And speaking of exploring, Woodland Escape's location made it the perfect hub for discovering the local pubs. With each visit, we experienced the charm of the area, accompanied by delicious food and friendly faces.Woodland Escape, thank you for an unforgettable stay. Your serene setting, attentive staff, and comfortable amenities make you a true gem for weary travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation. I visited in the summer with a friend and decided to come back this winter. A lovely little woodland owned and ran by a very nice man. Very reasonable rates indeed and the entire woodland is solely yours for the duration. Very peaceful place, wheels available for fires/cooking and a large structure with pallet tables and a tripod for cooking in. The ground gets very muddy and boggy in places during wet weather so wellies, warm sock and waterproof trousers are essential for that type of weather. Hiking boots weren't up to it so I wore those and I was golden.There is a very clean and tidy compost loo shed provided at the far end of the wood but no showers (it's a wild camping site...) so it's either a baby wipe wash or a quick strip wash. No bins provided so please take bags for your rubbish and take it with you. Leave no trace.Lots of beautiful birds, I spotted deer in adjacent fields as I went for a walk and a curious fox walked through my camp, woke me up at 0400 and made me fall out my hammock. Highly recommended and I will definitely be returning. A hidden gem of a spot for lovers of outdoor living looking for some peace and calm away from it all.🌲🌳🌲

The place is fantastic if you want to get away from it all and want some peace and tranquility the tents an yurts are very big with lots of room and the host Darrell is a lovely man who will cater for you're needs it's only a new place so I can't wait to watch this campsite grow 😀
