A very nice room in a Victorian house, had everything I needed. Comfortable bed, free tea & coffee and wi-fi. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Everyone very friendly. Plenty of on street parking. It was only a short walk into the town, which had plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops.

We stayed at Compton recently, a beautiful house , really warm and welcoming, we had room 1 , spotlessly clean as was the bathroom, very spacious and well furnished and a nice big comfy bed, will definitely be returning, thank you .

Great quiet location with street parking. We would definitely stop here again when visiting the theatre. Easy check in process and we stopped in room 3 which was an en-suite room.|The room was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was of good size too.

We rented out the whole place for a family weekend. And although everything was fine. The walls were and floorboards were too thin. Didn't really have a garden area.Saying that we enjoyed ourselves. Close to bars restaurants and shops. And close to some beautiful walks in the Peak District

Fantastic place to stay . Room was lovely and full of character. Booked ourselves in and out from text message instructions from owner , which suited us fine . Perfectly situated , 2 mins walk from market square and 10 mins from opera house. |Plenty of parking in street . |Would definitely come again

We at first enjoyed our stay at Compton, lovely location, very convenient, great place to meet (late April 2023). We were a group of 15 and a baby. We are also amateur costume event people as a group, all very fluffy and family friendly.The group enjoyed visiting Buxton, we walked to a pub, looked around some of the town and went to an art show in the morning at the Park. We did our Saturday afternoon costume event on & it was a great success, lots of smiling and happy people :-)The group (not just me!) found parts of Compton House worn out, badly maintained, things broken and a few electrically dangerous things (like leaking kettle, loose electrical sockets), a dozen tacks sticking out of the floor that the baby almost crawled over!! The cleaning fee was not collected by previous agreement with the host, then it was disputed by the host and Airbnb sided with us after a review.The host must have known about these really obvious defects, but he didn't like them being pointed out and moaned about it in his review. If things aren't broken or desperately worn out, people will be fine and will give great reviews.

Superb accommodation! I used this place as I was performing at Buxton Opera House and it's within 10 mins from the centre and train station. There is plenty of on street parking for those driving.I arrived very late (around 11pm) and I called the staff earlier to let them know in advance and they provided me with how to check in (this was before I even paid so they are clearly very trusting).The room was affordable, homely, very clean and had very comfortable beds. I would very much recommend the Compton Guest House.

Beaut guest house, lovely staff.Decorated beautifully throughout with modern rooms and the most comfortable bed.Lots of tea and coffee on hand in the room, as well as a selection of toiletrys being available in the bathroom.We had a room with a shared bathroom, which was not a problem what so ever, the whole place was pristine and absolutely spotless.Everything you need is just down to the road. Lovely selection of pubs, bars shops and restaurants all within walking distance.Excellent stay for the price, will defo be returning.They were so accommodating for my friends dog, such a lovely place to stay.We had the best time during our stay and so glad we visited for the night.
