Ayutthaya Thenee Hotel

I go to stay often. The food is delicious and the air conditioning is cool. The price is not expensive.

A GREAT hotel +bonus local food reviewLGBTQ+ friendly not ADA certifiedThis a great place to stay in Ayutthaya, on the island, within the Old Town. The rooms are spacious and come with a fridge, aircon, comfy beds, QUIET rooms for GREAT SLEEP, a large water room with water heater and good water pressure, wifi in common spaces, free morning coffee and a great beverage and snack bar. They also have a really kind staff (who are a little shy), who know Thai and some English (bring a translating app). They offer a traditional Thai breakfast, lunch and dinner for room service at a super reasonable rate. Some of the larger suites have 2 rooms and a bathtub (!) Ask for monthly rental if you’re in Ayutthaya long term. Has capacity for large groups when you book ahead of time. There are also tuktuk’s and motorbike grabs on both sides of 711 available all day long.Local Food just outside of the hotel is very comprehensive and super kind, there are great street carts just down the alley and around the corner. Horar Street Market is bustling during the day, you can find ANYthing you want here. In the evening Look for Chao Mung Gai (steamed or fried chicken over rice with sauce and broth on the side), made by two women on the southwest corner across the street from the Big C. There are also tasty chicken boat noodles on the same side of the street but a little North. The VERY best Pad Thai in all of Thailand is by two women on the west side of the street (just north of Big C). Next to them is a family pork cart that makes Ka Pau Moo Grub (minced or fried pork over rice) and Kyjio (omelets) and Chao Pat Moo (fried Rice with pork) and Pad Cee-Oo (wide rice noodles with egg, pork and Chinese broccoli)… Let them know Lek Noi sent you. All items can be requested without MSG (mai ow pong shoe rod). Closer to the 711 is a crepe cart in the evening that is super good. To the East, closer to the river there is the evening Na Wong Street Market.If you need a haircut, Kuk’s Studio is in the alleyway between the hotel and 711 and is available most of the day until about 7 pm, but can stay later if you arrange with her.Passport photos can be made very close and Ayutthaya Immigration Authority and the post office are also nearby.If you’re lucky you’ll meet the 4 street dogs that run this hotel, the white, fluffy one is good for petting (if you get her consent) and sharing a smoke with. The scruffy brown dog (eye do a Kiki yak) is a biter, so steer clear, he is the main security guard of the hotel. Watch for the kitties too, they make their appearances when everyone is calm.
