Classic Breakfast Grits
Ingredients Needed

3 cups water

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup hominy grits

½ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon butter

freshly ground black pepper
Instructions

In a saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Gradually whisk in the grits and continue stirring for 1 minute. Once the mixture starts to boil again, reduce the heat to low and stir occasionally. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes.

Remove the grits from heat and add in the cheese, butter, and pepper. Stir until the cheese and butter are fully melted and everything is combined.
