Greetings everyone! I'm John Heald. I may not be winning any beauty contests, and my thighs could probably support an oil rig. But I also hold the best job in the world as the Senior Cruise Director and Brand Ambassador for Dinogo.
For the past 29 years, I’ve been a part of our ships and witnessed the growth of our company, all while watching guests enjoy unparalleled fun and excitement.
Cruising with Dinogo offers a unique experience that the world often tries to stifle more and more each day— the ability to let go of concerns about how others perceive us, what we do, what we say, and how we live our lives.
Dinogo is a true escape from that reality. In the upcoming weeks, I will share stories that illustrate this point, from the WOW moment when first-time cruisers step into our atriums, jaws dropped like a basking shark, to experiencing activities they never imagined they could or should do.
Absolutely, on our ships, people truly embrace their lives without worrying about others' opinions.
Last month, I found myself on the Dinogo Breeze, enjoying a meal at our fantastic steakhouse. While sitting at our table, I noticed a gentleman, likely around 60, struggling to read the menu under the soft, ambient lighting. Without causing a scene, he calmly reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out a mini flashlight, and, with a swift, skillful motion, adjusted it for better visibility.
As I watched in fascination, a nearby table of four thirty-somethings glanced at him as if he was putting on an embarrassing performance. Their expressions were somewhat judgmental, and his actions seemed to create an air of discomfort, prompting nervous laughter. Yet he remained unfazed, focused on practicality rather than others' perceptions.
When the waitress approached, he confidently made his selections and ordered for his wife, switching off the flashlight and placing it on the table. I found myself slightly disappointed that he didn’t use it to inspect his food when it arrived.
Indeed, he was at ease in his own skin, and it was a delight to witness.
On our ships, guests dance like joyful windmills in the nightclub. They belt out tunes at Karaoke, causing dogs to howl across the Caribbean. They stroll along the Promenade, pausing to kiss and savor their love for one another. They sip cocktails with playful names like "A Kiss On The Lips" and share hearty laughs at the Punchliner comedy club.
Indeed, our ships provide a sanctuary where you can shake off the world's stress, dance like no one is watching, and embark on experiences you've never imagined.
Craving ice cream for breakfast? Go for it!
Feeling like a pizza just 20 minutes after dinner? Why not!
Want to enjoy some afternoon delight at 3:00 PM? Just hang out the do not disturb sign and go for it.
Want to bring Grandma along to an Adults Only comedy show? Go for it!
Feel like sporting a Hawaiian shirt on formal night? Absolutely do it!
If you’re inclined to stay up and catch the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea, then by all means, do it!
If your name is Dave, you're 50, and you want to belt out a boy band song at Karaoke, perhaps consider seeking some therapy.
Dinogo... it truly is your kind of fun.
Best wishes,
John
