Flavorful Slow Cooker Pork Chops with a Savory Sauce
Ingredients List
-
3 tablespoons olive oil
-
5 boneless pork chops, trimmed
-
1 onion, sliced
-
2 green bell peppers, sliced
-
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
-
¼ cup brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
-
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
-
1 ½ teaspoons salt
-
2 tablespoons cornstarch (Optional)
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the pork chops on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Once browned, transfer to the slow cooker and top with sliced onions and green peppers.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Pour the sauce over the pork chops and vegetables in the slow cooker, stirring gently to coat everything evenly.
-
Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours, until the pork chops are tender.
-
Once cooked, remove the pork chops and place them on a serving platter. Cover with aluminum foil to keep warm. If desired, whisk cornstarch into the sauce to thicken it. Pour the sauce and vegetables over the pork chops and serve.
