Ground Beef Beef Stroganoff

1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms

⅓ cup chopped onion

1 pound lean ground beef

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon seasoning salt

½ teaspoon ground paprika

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

¾ cup sour cream, or more to taste

1 tablespoon liquid smoke, or to taste (Optional)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and onions, cooking until onions become translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up as it browns, for 5-7 minutes. Stir in flour, garlic powder, seasoning salt, paprika, and pepper until well combined.

Stir in condensed soup, sour cream, liquid smoke, and Worcestershire sauce. Lower the heat to medium and continue stirring until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Cooking Tip
You can substitute fresh minced garlic for garlic powder if you prefer a more robust flavor.
