Ground Turkey Baked Ziti

List of Ingredients
-
1 pound ziti pasta
-
1 onion, chopped
-
1 pound lean ground turkey
-
2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
-
1 carrot, chopped
-
6 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
-
1 ½ cups reduced-fat sour cream
-
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
-
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions for Cooking
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the ziti pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain the pasta.
-
In a large skillet, heat over medium. Cook the onion and ground turkey, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and the turkey is browned, about 7 minutes. Add the spaghetti sauce and grated carrot, and simmer for about 15 minutes until everything is heated through. Layer the following ingredients in the prepared baking dish: half the ziti, provolone cheese, sour cream, half the sauce mixture, the remaining ziti, mozzarella cheese, and the remaining sauce. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
-
Bake the dish in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 30 minutes.
