How to Make Stabilized Whipped Cream

Ingredients List
-
¼ cup cold water
-
1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
-
1 cup heavy whipping cream
-
1 tablespoon white sugar
-
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Chill the mixing bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before using. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, add water and sprinkle gelatin over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
-
Heat the gelatin mixture in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds, stirring every 15 seconds until fully dissolved. Let it cool to room temperature, ensuring it's liquid but not warm when added to the cream.
-
Take the bowl and beaters out of the fridge, then pour in the cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture until distinct beater marks start to appear.
-
Slowly add the gelatin mixture to the cream while continuously beating. Continue beating until stiff peaks form. Use immediately.
Editor's Note
This recipe has been updated to include a quicker method for dissolving the gelatin in the microwave, taking 30 to 45 seconds as suggested by user feedback. The original method involved microwaving the gelatin for 3 minutes, stirring every minute.
