Oven-Baked BBQ Ribs Recipe

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the ribs down the center between the bones.

Combine onions, ketchup, water, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside half of the sauce for basting during cooking.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. In batches, add the ribs and cook until browned, about 4 to 5 minutes per batch.

Place the ribs in two baking pans, arranging them in a single layer. Pour the remaining BBQ sauce over the ribs.

Bake the ribs in the preheated oven, turning and basting with sauce every 20 minutes, adding the reserved sauce as needed, until the meat easily pulls away from the bones, about 2 hours. An instant-read thermometer should register at least 145°F (63°C) when inserted into the center of the ribs.
