Dinogo Readers’ Top 10 Favorite Resorts in Colorado for 2024
You might think that the finest resorts in Colorado are located in Denver, the state capital. However, in response to our 2024 World’s Best Awards survey, readers highlighted the state’s mountain towns as the ultimate destinations. Remarkably, nearly all of this year’s best Colorado resorts are situated in areas renowned for winter skiing and summer hiking. When the skiing and hiking enthusiasts flock to these mountain towns, the state’s most esteemed hotels welcome them with five-star amenities and stunning mountain vistas.
Understanding the Voting Process
Each year, for our World's Best Awards survey, T+L invites readers to share their travel experiences worldwide, providing insights into the finest hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. In the 2024 survey, over 186,000 T+L readers participated, casting more than 700,000 votes across 8,700 properties, including hotels, cities, and cruise lines.
Hotels were categorized as resort hotels, city hotels, inns, or safari lodges depending on their location and amenities, and they were evaluated based on the criteria listed below:
- Room and facilities
- Location
- Service
- Cuisine
- Value for money
For each attribute, participants could select a rating ranging from excellent to poor, including above average, average, and below average. The final scores represent the averages of these ratings.
Highlights from Readers
It’s no surprise that our readers’ favorite resort is located in Aspen, the most renowned ski town in Colorado. The Hotel Jerome, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, has been a staple of Aspen since 1889 and features a prime Main Street location just moments from the slopes.
The Madeline Hotel and Residences, also part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, secured the No. 2 spot, nestled at the base of the ski area. One T+L reader described its setting as “breathtaking,” remarking that “the views from every angle are simply stunning. Whether enjoying my morning coffee on the balcony or relaxing in the luxurious spa, I felt rejuvenated by the surrounding natural beauty.”
The mountain towns of Colorado maintained their strong presence on the list, featuring resorts in Vail, Snowmass, and Beaver Creek.

Since its inception during Aspen's silver rush, it has become an integral part of the city’s social fabric. Over 130 years later, its status remains unchanged, with one T+L reader declaring it "the go-to destination in Aspen."
Beyond its famous past and prime location on Main Street, guests feel more like part of a family than mere visitors. One guest remarked, "They understand ‘it,’" elaborating that, "while there are many wonderful places in Aspen, we truly feel at home at the Jerome."
This marks the second year in a row that Hotel Jerome has achieved the title of No. 1 resort in Colorado as voted by T+L readers.
