Simple and Tasty Rice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup long-grain white rice

½ small onion, minced

2 cups low-sodium chicken broth

1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste
Cooking Instructions

Heat oil in a nonstick pot over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking. Add the rice and stir constantly to lightly toast for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the onions and sauté for another minute.

Pour in the broth and add the garlic salt; bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is cooked, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
