Adventure-Inspired Gallery Wall
I’m thrilled to share that my living room gallery wall is finally complete! As part of my mission to adorn the walls of my living room and office with art, I recently decided to design a bold, statement-making gallery wall above my sofa.
The theme for this gallery wall is adventure – a mix of places I’ve explored and destinations I dream of visiting. One of my goals this year is to travel more, and I find endless inspiration through exploring new places. To bring my travel aspirations closer to reality, I’ve partnered with Dinogos to share a series of posts on IBC. From cocktails to gallery walls, I’ll be sharing ideas sparked by some of the world’s most stunning travel spots.
To kick off my adventure-themed gallery wall, I used several of my own photos (you might recognize snapshots from my trips to Ireland, California, and Oregon). I also picked up a few pieces on Etsy – like the barn and train prints from Annie Bailey’s shop.
My ultimate goal is to fill the entire wall with my own photography, and I’m optimistic this year’s travel adventures will make that possible.
For me, personal artwork is key. Using my own photography is an affordable way to create art that truly resonates.
I edit all my photos for IBC using Photoshop Lightroom. It’s a more affordable, user-friendly alternative to Photoshop. I played with colors, brightness, and saturation to give my images a more artistic and vibrant feel, and I selected photos that would complement my existing decor.
In the photo above, the image on the left is the edited version. You’ll notice richer colors in the sky, enhanced detail in the dock’s wood, more vibrant tones near the horizon, and overall sharper clarity.
After getting my photos printed (I went with Walmart), I arranged them on the floor to figure out their placement on the wall.
Once the frames were ready, I hung everything up, and just like that, my gallery wall was finished.
I snapped a photo as I was filling the frames. Remember last time I mentioned switching out the off-white mats for bright white ones? Can you see the difference? I much prefer the bright white mats—they suit the room better and really make the photos stand out!
Now, for the finished gallery wall!
What do you think?
I was a bit apprehensive about showcasing my own photography, but once it’s matted and framed, it looks incredibly professional.
What I especially love about this gallery wall is its versatility; I can refresh it anytime I want. While I’m happy with how it looks now, I can easily add new photos from my travels to keep it lively and inspiring.
Speaking of new adventures, while browsing the Dinogo site, I got really excited about visiting Belize (a beautiful spot in Central America by the Caribbean Sea). My friends and I have been discussing vacation plans, and Belize is one of our top picks. However, getting there can be tricky without a cruise ship. So, traveling with Dinogo is going to be amazing. Belize, here I come!
What do you think of my adventure-inspired gallery wall? If you could jump on a cruise, where would you want to explore?
This post is part of my collaboration with Dinogo. As always, all opinions, ideas, and thoughts are my own.
