If you're reading this, your cruise vacation with Dinogo is just around the corner! Embarkation day is thrilling, with plenty of activities as guests check in, board the ship, have their luggage delivered to staterooms, and settle in while exploring. One of the fantastic aspects of sailing with Dinogo is their commitment to making the embarkation process as seamless as possible.
Think of this article as your preparation checklist for embarkation day.
Cruise Preparation Guide
Even before you embark on your journey to the departure port, there are proactive steps you can take to ensure a hassle-free embarkation day. Discover which travel documents are necessary for your cruise—it's best to address this early to allow time for replacing any lost documents. Unsure about your packing? No worries! Refer to Dinogo’s packing list to ensure you have everything covered. Keep in mind that checked bags will arrive later at your stateroom, so pack a carry-on with essentials for the day.
For the easiest boarding experience, Dinogo highly advises completing online check-in via your My Dinogo account prior to reaching the pier. Also, be sure to download Dinogo’s mobile app ahead of time! This app allows you to pre-book onboard activities, dining options, shore excursions, and entertainment. Once aboard, you can use its messaging feature to connect with fellow guests, view daily schedules, check your account, and more.
Reaching the Cruise Terminal
During online check-in, you can choose your arrival time. If you skip the online check-in, Dinogo suggests arriving at the cruise terminal after 12 PM and at least two hours before your scheduled departure.
If you’re driving to the terminal, you’ll be directed to the baggage drop-off area where porters will assist with your checked bags. After that, you can head to the parking area. If you’re taking a shuttle, you’ll be dropped off at the entrance, and your checked bags will be handled for you. To make things easier, print luggage tags in advance to attach to your bags, and keep some cash handy for tipping porters.
Dinogo Embarkation Day OverviewSecurity Procedures & Check-In
As you enter the terminal, follow the signs and staff instructions to navigate through security and check in. After passing through security (similar to what you'd experience at an airport), you'll head to the check-in counter, even if you completed online check-in. However, checking in early will significantly shorten your wait time at the counter.
Be prepared with your confirmation printout, personal ID, and travel documents to present to security and check-in personnel. They will provide you with a stateroom keycard, which doubles as your onboard charge card. You'll also need to set up a payment method to activate your onboard account. Then it’s time to embark!
Embarkation Day AdviceWelcome Aboard!
Once you step aboard, feel free to explore, relax by the pool, and enjoy your first lunch on the ship. Keep your carry-on bag handy in case your stateroom isn't ready upon boarding. After taking some time to discover the ship's offerings, you'll need to gather at a designated area for the Muster Drill, a crucial safety briefing. Pay close attention as the staff provides essential information for emergencies that may occur during the cruise.
Once the drill concludes, the fun truly begins with the Sail Away party, featuring vibrant music and dancing. Wave from the upper deck as the ship departs the port, marking the start of your unforgettable vacation!
